16 weeks ago my wife went OHS with Dr. Perry. I can't say enough good things about him and the team during this challenging experience. I would like to mention my father was a surgeon for 35 years, he taught surgery and over saw surgery centers. Dr. Perry is the guy you want for this. He was confident, caring, communicative, direct (when we needed to hear what had to be said even though we didn't want to hear it) and at no time did we not have full confidence in his ability or that of his team at French Hospital. I can't express that enough-as a spouse you really want to feel like you are in the best hands possible and he exceeded in doing that. Post surgery he was on top of everything and when he could tell I was upset from the stress he came to see me in person and looked me in the eye reassuringly. Frankly, he cares about what he does and the people he's helping. Follow ups were great, the post surgery team at French Hospital was beyond incredible. And everything basically went as expected (Note: there can be some slight variances in recovery and it's just how it goes). Overall I can't say enough how great he-they are. If you are worried going into OHS (which is normal) you should meet with Dr. Perry and choose him as your surgeon. You won't regret it at all.

Around the beginning of 2023 I began having shortness of breath. I went to see Dr lazardibal in SLO he did some tests on me and found nothing wrong. He put me on a heart pill and tried to get me on a statin I refused. He got angry and dismissed me as a patient. I told him he was a pill pusher. I eventually got in to see another cardiologist who did an ekg and agreed something was not right. I was sent to see Dr doria who did a angiogram. He discovered i had a 99% blocked artery. He inserted 2 stents and I immediately felt better. By September I was having trouble breathing. I went to emergency 3 times with chronic shortness of breath. I was beginning to think I had COPD. Further testing revealed I had fluid building up around my heart and lungs. I was sent to French hospital to have a camera run down my esophagus to look at the back of my heart revealing I had a mitravalve prolapse regurgitation. A valve wasn't closing allowing blood to flow back into my heart and needed repair meaning I need open heart surgery. Everyone's worst nightmare but it had to be done so I openly accepted it. I was sent to see Dr Perry he explained to me in great detail what he was going to do. I felt very comfortable with him and put my full trust in him. He had my life in his hands. He stopped my heart for 4 hours repaired my valve did a small bypass eliminating the stents restarted my heart and into ICU recovery I went. 6 days in the hospital I went home and by week 2 I was out having coffee decaf of course I went shopping with my wife and walked up and down every isle in grocery outlet. I felt great by 3 weeks I was driving and walking 1/4 mile everyday. I'm now at 9 weeks and I'm totally back to normal. Dr Perry gave me my life back to like it was in 2022 before my problems started. I owe my life to Dr Perry. Dr Doria and Dr wieschmann. Three amazing Doctors. I must say at one point I was so distraught with how I felt like I was never going to have a normal life again that I contemplated ending my life. I couldn't live the rest of my life in the condition I was in. Oh by the way I'm 80 years of age I now feel like I'm 40 again. Thank you Drs Perry, Wiechmann and Doria. In closing I'd like to say you must be your own advocate when it comes to your health, your heart, your life. Don't let Drs like lizardibal tell you you're fine and just want to push pills on you. Get a second opinion.

Dr. Perry replaced my Arotic and Mitral valve. He performed an excellent surgery and I have recovery from the surgery faster than I thought I would. Back to the gym after three months. I was very nervous to have this surgery but he was reassuring and made me feel at ease. He came to check on me almost everyday after the procedure (9 days) . Thank you Dr Perry
