I want to say Thank you Dr. Durairaj, for taking on a life saving procedure called Transcather Aortic Valve Replacement on July 26, 2018. We as Jehovah's Witnesses value our lives and the sacredness of blood, therefore refusing blood transfusion therefore accepting other medical procedures that could save our lives. You performed this delicate surgery with great concern for my father (Suggs) his wife and his family, my father on that day. You were so calm, caring and kind in your tone telling us how serious this surgery was. It was a success without the use of blood. Your team in that operating room were wonderful. Thank you! Doctors are trained as scientists, but for many the greater part of their work consists of talking to patients, I appreciate a doctor (you) who understands patients' feelings and the stress they live with. But it is reasonable to ask, How many patients understand their doctor's feelings and the stress he or she lives with? Doing so could surely improve doctor-patient relationships. We need to realize how much stress doctors/surgeon live with, some physicians suffer a type of burnout now called compassion fatigue. Never may that happen to you.
