Buyer beware as Dr. Steven Gundry has out-sourced his customer service operation, and he doesn't seem to have concern that those people HAVE no regard for the consumer. First, I bought the Polyphenol Olive Oil after watching his video. The Olive Oil had a truly disgusting taste, and one that could not be camouflaged with other seasonings. Yes, I could have drank the oil straight, with my nose plugged, but that really seemed like an extreme solution. After using a small portion of the bottle, I decided it was my bad for buying it and falling under the spell of another infomercial style advertisement, even if it was coming from a Yale educated, former cardiothoracic surgeon. I ended up dumping the $50 bottle of Olive oil down the drain. Recently, I've been experiencing some acute joint pain in my lower body. In July 2025 I had to quit my job because I was barely able to walk. I'm someone who prefers natural supplements and homeopathic solutions to health situations, and I ordered two Gundry products about 10 days ago. Between the time I placed the orders, and when the orders arrived, I was diagnosed with a serious auto immune disease by my doctor at Mayo Clinic. During that conversation where a long-term plan was developed to ease my pain and restore my health to the previous good place it had been, I asked about using supplements or other remedies in addition to the pharmaceuticals I've now been prescribed. I was told it was best if I did not create confusion in my body in terms of what medications were working for me, and which were not. Made sense. Today, October 19, days after receiving those Gundry MD Products, I initiated a 'live chat' conversation to ensure I could return the unopened, unused products. When Gundry reps on the chat site informed me I would bear responsibility for return shipping, I asked for a waiver of that. In the interest of 'humane goodwill' and I explained my situation. They couldn't have cared less. In fact I was cut off from the chat by the first rep, and had to re-start the chat to make sure my request to have Gundry pick up the return shipping was understood. Both pushed the same 'canned response' button and that was that. "We aren't able to do that and we wish you a great rest of your day." Wow. As a business woman myself, I would never have dismissed a customer request in such a cavalier way. But my small business certainly cannot be compared with the business empire Dr. Gundry has built for himself. It's not going to break me to pay delivery and now return shipping for a product that my doctor suggested I avoid using, after receiving a devastating health diagnosis. All of what I've said can be verified on their end, in terms of when I placed the orders, received the orders, and ultimately contacted the Company about returning the items. Interesting that the reviews on the Gundry MD website are 4.77 stars (average). Interesting that I was unable to add my own review on that site. Interesting that using a path through Google Maps I found several businesses for Steven Gundry. Where the overall ratings showed the majority of customers rated his business a "1". Which is what I'm rating his business, but only because there is no option to rate ZERO stars.
