I am 4 days post op and passed out at home my doctor told me to go to sutter emergency room so they could see results. I have been dizzy and lightheaded and have had a horrible headache 2 days now. I have been sitting in there waiting room for 6 hours now waiting to see the doctor and was told there is still 10 people ahead of me. Nurse said they would get me Tylenol to keep up with my pain management for post care and it's been 3 hrs since may alarm went off for it. I'm supposed to pay a $150 co pay for what???? Being neglected and just left to sit and be in pain. Seeing tons of people go before me that were after me. I have open wounds on my abdomen and I'm left feeling pain and weak. Absolutely ridiculous. Update: I am now at 10 hrs and have yet to see the doctor or drink water or be seen by a Doctor!

My Mother Carolyn was recently brought in unresponsive from her "Care Center". The quality of care both SHE AND I received from this hospital staff from the ER to the ICU, to the Oncology floor, was absolutely OUTSTANDING! They treated her with the greatest of care and made me feel informed and cared for as well the whole time. My Mother ended up passing away but I cannot thank them enough for what they did for her and me, THANK YOU!

Fortunately I'm a pretty healthy person and have had little need for medical care, however twice in the past ten years I have had need to go to the emergency room at Memorial. Both times I have received the best care. Every person from the woman who checked me in, to the nurses, and the tech's who wheeled me around, were kind and a pleasure to have met. It is no fun to be in pain especially when you have no idea what is causing it. That the staff worked with great professionalism while being bombarded with people in need proved how awesome and well trained these professionals are. At one point when the nurse was drawing blood, I told the nurse that out of all the time's I have had blood drawn that this was the least painful. I meant it! I barely felt it. She sighed and said that's what she strives for. After a long night of tests I finally got to meet the doctor, a tall handsome gentleman, with a pleasant demeanor and kind smile. He gave me careful instructions and the proper medications. At this point I was dismissed. I hope I don't ever have to go back, who wants to be in pain? But if I do, I hope all these kind and professional people are there.

I visited the Emergency Department at Memorial Medical Center last night with chest pain, which ultimately turned out to be a panic attack, just as I had suspected. I initially went to an urgent care clinic but was turned away because they couldn't rule out cardiac issues. I expected to be at the hospital all night, but despite a full waiting room, I was in and out in under three hours. I received a complete cardiac workup -- EKG, vitals, chest X-ray, and bloodwork -- all performed efficiently, with lab results finalized shortly after being drawn. Having been to the other large emergency departments in the county, I can confidently say I would have waited much longer elsewhere. The efficiency, professionalism, and quality of care provided by the Memorial Medical Center ED team were outstanding -- the best I've experienced in any emergency setting.

I know there are always issues that arise in hospitals, and they can't always be everywhere at once. Yes, problems pop up, things aren't always perfect every second. But the care my father received during his recent hospitalization of nearly two weeks, was really wonderful. The nurses, CNA's, doctor's and support staff, even the cleaning staff were all so kind, so supportive, so good at their jobs. They paid attention to his needs and symptoms and were quick to solve problems. He told me that although it was hard to get solid rest because of the duties needing to be performed for safety and vital life-support, that he felt safe and comfortable and cared for, and that everyone was so very kind to him, even though he was often crabby and complaining. Bayley, Camlesh...I can't even remember all the names (although I know he will and I will ask him when he gets home from surgery to update this), you know who you all are and how sweet and kind and wonderful you are at your jobs ! Thanks a million!! Update: He remembered some more names, Raina, Ricardo... just so many caring people there. Thank you again!
