Patient
I'm incredibly upset with this doctor and his treatment of my husband. My husband has been in and out of the hospital for over four years, suffering from idiopathic chronic pancreatitis. This chronic issue was caused by an anatomical deformity, versus any actions of his own. It is commonly known as one of the most excruciating afflictions. Unfortunately, some doctors, despite the records of his previous care and consistency of the most effective care for him, decide they know better and lower his pain medications leaving him no better than when he first entered the ER and/or was admitted. Yesterday, that was the case with Dr. Sanghera. My husband received 2mg of dilaudid every three hours in the ER, which is the only dose that really helps bring his pain down (usually only to a 3 or 4 out of 10, but better than the 6-9's he has when he comes in depending on the day). This doctor, having never seen my husband as a patient before, doing no tests, decided he should ignore the treatment given to my spouse in the ER, as well as the historic treatment of him by renowned doctors over the past four years, and change my husband's medication to receive 1mg of dilaudid every four hours and could have Norco in between. Norco hasn't been the least bit effective for him in the past 3 years. The nurse, who is a very familiar with my husband's case, as he has been there frequently, even talked with Dr. Sanghera, pointing out the historic treatment of my husband, but could not encourage him to help my husband. Then, I tried to call and he had already left, so my husband had to spend the night in agony. I'm furious at the treatment of my husband and am baffled as to why Dr. Sanghera would ignore the medical records, best care, and needs of a patient. Obviously, we would never recommend him for the proper and best care of any patient. Arrogance, apathy, indifference, and lack of compassion are not qualities I want in my doctor. My husband and I were both in tears over his pain, suffering, and mistreatment.
