Michael E. Bowdish, MD, is a visiting Professor of Cardiac Surgery and Vice Chair, Quality and Research with the Department of Cardiac Surgery Smidt Heart Institute, Cedars Sinai Medical Center. Dr. Bowdish is an adult cardiac surgeon who brings specialized state-of-the-art training from the world-renowned New York Presbyterian Columbia University Medical Center in surgical therapy for heart failure, mechanical circulatory support, and heart transplantation to USC. Dr. Bowdish has been involved in several clinical trials evaluating new mechanical circulatory support devices for the treatment of end-stage heart failure - trials that have expanded the indications for the use of these devices.
