This doctor is one of the most amazing medical professionals I have ever encountered. Why? Because I am not his "kith or his kin," but he treated me as though I were a member of his family. He listened to my complaints about difficulty breathing and an increased heart rate in 2013, and because of good care, I am still here to tell the story after open heart surgery--an aneurysm. Wow! Dr. Kanegae should be a national treasure. If my late mother had been under his care, she would still be alive.

I have filed with the Calif. Medical Board under three charges including patient abandonment regarding my husband. Also included is prescribing a drug considered dangerous for my husband's condition. Kanagae was warned against it by neurologist only a few days before prescribing it again, in an amount 2 and a half times stronger. What has resulted is a tragedy. My husband is still alive but unable to walk and toilet himself. Dr. Kanagae was my husband's doctor for over 10 years. We trusted him and had a good relationship but in the last year he seemed to be unfocused.
