Dr. Christopher W. Chu, Cardiovascular Diseases

Getting an appointment is impossible. No one calls you back after you leave your information on the recorded line and there is no opportunity to speak to a live person.I have been trying for a week! Prior to this week, I did get a live person and she left me on hold for 45 minutes until I finally hung up.Since then I only get a recording that says some garbage about "normal business hours" Well if 10AM or 2 PM is not business hours, then WHEN???

Took my mom to see Dr Chu, despited the fact that we arrived 30 mins prior to her appointment she was seen 2 hours late. While she was getting an echo cardiogram and was exposed from the waist up wearing just a paper vest that didn't cover much the door to the room kept opening. Dr Chu walked in with multiple students including a male and never once asked if we were comfortable with that. He communicated with the Cardiology students the entire time rather than explaining to us what she had going on. I can't imagine what else would have happened if I hadn't been there with her. Even after I voiced my complaint there was no apology.

Dr Chu is a poor listener and even worse communicator. He completely ignored the issues I was having and ran tests that were unrelated to my condition. When I questioned him on that, he stumbled around and said those tests were unimportant despite their being the standard diagnostic tests for what i likely have. I know there a slim pickings for specialists in LA, but I'd keep looking.

The staff are very helpful and very nice. Dr Chu is a great Doctor that really cares about his patients.
