Excellent front office and back office staff. I drive a couple of hours to reach this office, well worth the drive. Dr. Magpile listened to my concerns, did appropriate testing, defined an effective and very efficient plan of correction that resolved the problems. He explained what and why. Pleasant surprise was his in-person follow-up call to review lab results. Besides being very competent, he is a nice guy. It is clear that the well being of his patients is top priority.
I have been going to Dr Magpile for several years and he was my first real primary docs. For a couple of years my insurance changed and I couldn't see him and I was upset and just paid out of pocket. He is very thoughtful, considerate, caring and he takes his time to make sure I am well cared for. His nurse Carolin is also kind and caring and they take sincere interest in how you feel.
Dr. Magpile is knowledgeable and thorough. He's patient and explains issues in layman's terms. I use my Scripps account to message him and always receive a prompt response. His staff is courteous and helpful. After a dog bite, I called and asked to see him. Front office staff told me he had time, but when I arrived, they said I couldn't see him because I may need stitches. It would have been helpful if staff had told me that on the phone. This, of course, had nothing to do with Dr. Magpile. If I were rating the front office staff they certainly would not receive more than one star.
Excellent doctor, He has taken care of me and my husband healthcare needs for little over 15 years. He takes the time to listen to his patience and work together with them in finding what's best for their needs.
This complaint is directed towards Dr. Magpile's nurses, Dr. Magpile and Scripps as a whole. I have been a patient of Dr. Magpile for several years and the customer care is no longer existent. Anytime I attempt to get an appointment my doctor he is always booked out and I have to see someone else. When I try to leave a message to ask a question the nurses never write down my request correctly and they try to rush me off the phone without understanding. Anytime I ask for a call back from him, I always get a nurse returning the call and its always you need to come see the doctor. I would recommend finding another doctor/provider.
