Dr. Cheung Tom Leung, MD, FACC

Dr Leung is both my cardiologist and PCP. I've known him for more than 20 years, and he is the best doctor I have ever met. He's a strong Christian who goes on mission trips to Africa to care for people with no access to doctors, has a friendly and attentive personality, calls me with lab results at night, refers me to cardiologists at Stanford when I need specialty heart care and surgeries. Thanks to Dr Leung, I have the head of the department as my personal electrophysiologist, who actually knows my name at Stanford. Dr Leung has saved my life four times when I have had heart emergencies.. Without him, I would have died many years ago, but God has not been in a hurry to bring my 79 year body home, and Dr Leung is too stubborn to let me die. You will not find a better doctor anywhere.

Dr. Leung was the attending cardiologist while I was in ER at St. Louise after valve replacement surgery. He was knowledgeable regarding the somewhat unusual surgery I had. He checked with my heart surgeon at stanford, who he knew, and he prescribed medication that has since reduced the post-operative atrial fibrillation I was experiencing, but most importantly he was kind, reassuring, and came back the next day and talked to me for 20 minutes to make sure I was okay. I have never had that kind of experience and follow through from ER to the hospital. He was hands down one of the best doctors I've ever seen. You are blessed if you get to have him.

I've been a patient of Dr. Leung's for many years benefiting from his experience as a PCP/cardiologist and his excellent referrals to specialist colleagues performing open heart valve surgery, spinal surgery, other "minor" surgeries such as a hernia operation, various dermatological procedures, and cataract surgery to name a few ( I told you he's been my doc for a while...). I could go as far to say he saved my life at one point and later on improved the quality of my life tremendously. Semi-annual routine visits along with annual echocardiograms in his office have been a breeze thanks to his excellent staff! Always on time, I don't recall ever having one those sit-in-the-waiting-room-for-hours appointments we've all had elsewhere. Dr. Leung is now associated with MDVIP (sort of a concierge thing) with 24/7 call/text access via his private cell phone(!) with a focus on individualized wellness care and preventative medicine. As an aside, he also supervised my mother-in-law's end of life process.

I have been a patient of Dr. Leung for more than 20 years. During this time he has provided the best personal care I have ever experienced. He is easy to confide in and always answer questions in an easy to understand manner. I feel he is more than my physician, he is a friend I can depend on.

Dr. Leung really listens to his patients in a non hurried compassionate way. We always rely on his expertise, and Dr. Leung seems to be ALWAYS CURRENT in what is happening in the Medical Community. He is so pleasant, caring, compassionate and very easy to talk to. I highly recommend him!!
