Nellis A Smith, M.D.

Dr Smith has been my mom's cardiologist for over 20 years. Mom has the cough/flu. She was admitted to ER for a few days. She got home for a few days. Her recent lab came back with very high BNP. Dr Smith's nurse Yolanda got a hold of the doctor. He called us back at 6:30pm on a Friday evening. Spoke to us for 30 mins and explained and shared his insight. We really appreciate his experience, understanding of mom's medical history, grieving for the recent passing of dad, and told us what to look for. The meeting gave us comfort and relief. Dr Smith, ( Nellis) is the poster child for what you want in a physician/cardiologist. I am not qualified to evaluate Dr. Smith's medical skills but I am qualified to know when I am being treated with the utmost professionalism, and a strong sense of caring for me as a patient. Nellis is a good listener and always invites questions or concerns. In addition, the support staff at Silicon Valley Cardiology have always been very responsive and helpful to me. I feel very fortunate to have access to Dr. Nellis Smith and his colleagues at Silicon Valley Cardiology.

Dr. Smith is a caring, concerned, and competent clinician who consistently engages in a personal and friendly manner. He has been a great help in managing and improving my health through several difficult issues for which I am very grateful. Highly recommended.

I'd love to give a review of Dr. Nellis Smith. I have been in his care for around 4 years or more, and happy with his treatment. He is an approachable doctor who cares about me as a human being. I have thrived under his care. He's a nice person! I like him! It astounds me that Sutter Health seeks to get reviews of the medical staff. Very unfortunate for them to be a the whim and at mercy of patients' reviews. What a terrible way to treat your staff.

Dr. Smith has cared for me as a heart patient suffering from calcification of my arteries for more than a decade. I am now 90 years old and attribute at least five years of my life to his careful, thought care. He goes above and beyond the ordinary efforts, and has recomeended treatment for me while I was hospitalized after recognizing my voice while passing through the hall. He is expert and personally charming.
