Patient
The low score is based on incompetent scheduling in the doctors office. Cancelled pre-op appt, told it wasn't necessary for cardiac ablation surgery, if you have questions call. 18 hours before surgery and after having all labs, scans and covid testing done, my husband( the patient), taking time off to get those required tests done and time off for surgery and recovery, as his wife I also cleared my schedule for two days to care for him. We get a call 17 hours before surgery from Dr Duggirala's office telling us the hospital he is scheduled for surgery at is no longer part of Optum, our health care plan? Surgery cancelled. The doctors office didn't know this 3 or 4 days ago? A lot of wasted time, loss of pay for both of us, and insurance being billed for unnecessary lab work. Unacceptable. New Update: Let me add that surgery was rescheduled for 7/6/22, my husband was in the hospital bed, prepped by pre-op nurses , needles poked all over him to find two veins for Iv's, heart monitors on his body, all ready to go when the nurse and anesthesiologist realized that my husbands pre op instructions included " Take your medications with water unless otherwise instructed." My husband was not instructed to stop taking any medications by Dr Duggirala or his staff, but he should have been instructed to stop taking two of the medications. So once again here we are, a second surgery cancelled. It is completely unbelievable to me that staff at a Cardiologist office could be so careless and incompetent. It is time for Foothill Cardiology Medical Group to add more staff and definitely add a pre op instruction person to their staff. Once again our insurance will be billed for the Cardiology groups mistakes.
