Coastal Cardiology Arroyo Grande

I have been trying for months to get in contact with Dr. Hashmi's office for a POTS evaluation and consultation. The process has been incredibly frustrating, but the worst part was the receptionist. He argued with me on the phone for nearly 8 minutes, refused to transfer me when I asked, and was outright verbally abusive before finally sending me to the MA's voicemail. The stress from that call left me physically sick and in a flare-up. No patient should ever be treated this way, especially at a cardiology office where people are already vulnerable. He should not be answering phones or dealing with patients. Dr. Hashmi may be a good doctor, but the office staff's treatment of patients is unacceptable. I sincerely hope changes are made so no one else has to go through what I experienced.

Multiple calls made and messages left to get in to see a cardiologist, no return calls. Urgent Care told me if they were not returning my calls, I would need to go to ER (although it was not technically an emergency)to get their attention. I did get in soon after my ER visit, but now I have and ER bill of $3,680 (after insurance) which could have been avoided had I gotten a return call after multiple calls over a couple of months. I'm stuck with this large bill and received a verbal apology. No accountability and seemingly no understanding for how I feel having such a bill due to the neglect of the office. Has been my primary cardiologist for about 7 months. I see her in the AG office. She takes great interest in each patient and shows genuine concern, even calling me in for emergency appointments set for the following day based on test or other results. The staff in the AG office are knowledgeable and always friendly. Dr. Tackett is professional but speaks plainly and intelligently, unlike some doctors who think everyone is stupid and speaks to me as though I was a child. She doesn't do that. I like that, because I have some medical knowledge and I'm not stupid. I gave her 5 stars and would recommend her to anyone.

Andrea is the best. She literally saved my life 5 years ago, and continues to take a sincere interest in me as a patient. I love the encouragement to be the best I can be, so I will live a long time.

I can never get a call back. Cant get a hold of anyone to refill a prescription. Sad
