I cannot say enough about Eisenhower's Cardiology Department: Dr. Sanchez & Dr. Feldman. I was having major high blood pressure spiking problems. After 3 trips to the ER with dizziness, blackouts and spending 1 week in the Cardiac Unit, where the doctors tried 3 trying different BP meds to get my hypertension under control, my doctor, Joseph Sanchez, felt I needed to see a cardiologist and got Dr. Sharma involved. Upon seeing me, he immediately put me on a heart monitor prior to my discharge. After 3 weeks, he saw me in his office on Thursday, Sept 25. He taught me how to use the monitor to report incidents, which the technician had not done. I assumed they were tracking and would review the report. He told me I needed to press the button anytime I had an incident. And that I would see Dr. Feldman, an Electro Cardiologist in 4 weeks. The next day, Friday, Sept 26, I had an incident in the late afternoon, and pushed the button. Within 30 minutes Dena, the scheduler, called and said Dr. Sharma wanted me to see Dr. Feldman first thing Monday morning at 10:00AM. I was shocked, but Dr Sharma told me that I had a high grade AV Block which put me at high risk. On Monday, Dr. Feldman evaluated the situation, recommended the Micra pacemaker, which was a small capsule inserted through a vein up into my heart and took under 15 minutes for the procedure. We scheduled the procedure for Weds, Oct 8th. However, two days later, I had an incident on Wednesday morning, Oct 1st, and I was immediately notified by Dena, Dr Feldman's scheduler at 10:00 AM. They strongly recommended that I have the procedure that day! They told me it was critical. I took their suggestion, and had the procedure that same day at 6:00PM. It has been 1 week and I already feel so much better and have had no incidents since the procedure. I truly appreciate how Dr. Sanchez, Dr. Sharma and Dr. Feldman worked together as a team to get this resolved so quickly and keep me out of harms way. I cannot thank the 3 of them enough!. All great doctors with a great attitude. Plus Dena & Delia, who work in the Cardiology Unit were quick to act. Without them, I don't know what would have happened! THANK YOU!!!!

Reading the reviews here it seems like this is a love it or hate it place. My experience is this that this is FIRST CLASS MEDICAL SERVICE, with an asterisk. The care here is great. Every interaction with any member of a care team, and I would like to particularly mention and thank Shelley Heiman an RT, has been first class. The asterisk: scheduling and calling is a hassle. It should not be that hard to make an appointment or get feedback on an issue. If you are a member of their 365 Care program it is better once you have a primary, but not everyone can afford that program. Just pointing out, for the administration, it does not seem that the lower level staff cares a whole lot. It is a general issue across Eisenhower's facilities: non-care staff is not engaged in customer care. AT ALL. Get past that, a great level of medical care.

During my recent few days been at Eisenhower Hospital Dr. Fitts came in to check on me. I needed a cardiologist to review my records and overall health. Dr. Fitts had one of the worst bedside manner I've ever seen in a doctor in my entire life. Very rude, pompous and arrogant, and did not provide me any help whatsoever. I would not recommend this doctor to anybody. A horrible experience. Overall my state Eisenhower was good and I would've given five stars if I had excellent care in the cardiology department.

rude incompetent phone clerks. apparently their #1 job is preventing patients from received treatment. impossible to reach the actual office of the doctor, barred by Dairy Queen rejects. extreme allergic reaction to a prescription and zip help from EMC/Cardio. blood test showed irregularities but Kelsay MD did not bother to give diagnosis. recently nearly collapsed on short walk. obviously SOMETHING is wrong. now trying to get hematology appointment, but waiting for yet another specialist referral. i hope EMC will be very happy in their new eight story building. i probably will not live to see it completed. Cardio/Kelsay MD refused ANY communication regarding diagnosis, recommendations. referrals or ANYTHING. just posted to My Chart and abandoned me to Google. many attempts to find alternate specialists were unsuccessful. the only PCP i could get doesn't review results from his own prescribed tests much less another doctor. any qualified respected cardio will not take my insurance. yet Eisenhower billed Medicare and me $thousands. these results from prescribed tests scare me but i have no doctor. only Google. There is moderate to severe mitral annular calcification. 6. Pericardial fat pad is present 7. There is trace pulmonic insufficiency. 8. There is moderate to severe mitral regurgitation with possible mild posterior mitral valve leaflet prolapse. 9. The right atrial pressure is 3 mmHg 10. RVSP 29 mmHg. actions/lack there of by this $gazillion medical center are unconscionable.

Doctor Diamantakos is amazing! He is my cardiologist and performed the implanting of a heart device yesterday. His beside manner made me smile, even going through the process. If you're lucky enough to be at Eisenhower Hospital and get to receive medical attn from Dr. D, you're lucky. #Gratitude
