Patient Reviews

Patient

I have never written a review before, but this visit was so awful that I feel I must warn others. I have never met a doctor as disrespectful and unprofessional as Dr. Evans. I was scared, in pain, and looking for answers. First, Dr. Evans was entirely dismissive of my situation due to my age and medical history. After desperately explaining that I was just looking for answers, he repeatedly said that it wasn't a heart attack so I don't need to be there. If fact, he flat out asked, "Did your dad die? Was it a heart attack?" Without waiting for a response. I started crying and getting upset because of the onslaught of questions. He only got less understanding and less patient with me. Second, I never said I had a heart attack. I said that I was experiencing symptoms similar to a heart attack. He continually asked, "How do you know it was like a heart attack? You've never had one." For context, over the last two months I've had two events in which I experienced a great deal of chest pain followed by numbness in my left arm. I explained this, of course. I tried to explain that the whole reason I came was to find answers to why I'm still in pain despite NOT having a heart attack. This leads to my next point. After only listening to my heart, he asked why I, as a younger person, was afraid of my pain being a heart attack. He asked what I was doing here and what I wanted him to do about it. I was confused. I explained that I just wanted to find an answer and look at whatever the next step in recovery looks like. He ignored me and insisted that I tell him what I wanted him to do about it. I am not the medical "professional" in this situation. I just wanted answers. I, extremely upset, stood up and told him I was leaving. I said, "I can't do this. I'm going somewhere where I will be listened to." Dr. Evans response was, "Yeah, go somewhere they will listen," before storming out of the room. To see such childish behavior from a doctor was quite jarring. If this has not been enough of a testimony to do something about your staff, then I am appalled to think of what happened to your patients behind closed doors. The oath you took said to do no harm, yet I come from your clinic more hurt and confused than ever. Do better.

I sat in the waiting area for an hour and a half, and watched the receptionists be down right hateful to every single patient. They turned away a patient for chest pains. After they finally took me to the back (an hour past my appointment time) they had me waiting in a room for another hour before the dr came in. He was very unprofessional, and has no interest in listening to the patient. After explaining to him that I've been continuously sent to a cardiologist for 6 years now, and that I'm looking for answers, not to be gaslit like every other dr has done, he walked out of the room and said he had no interested in treating me. I do not recommend this clinic. It hasn't even been a week since I was suppose to be seen, and now I'm having issues that cannot be ignored. If you're looking for a Dr who cares and listens to their patients, this is not the place to go. If you have issues with anything other than heart attacks, they have no interest in seeing you, because they only specialize in heart attacks is what the dr told me as he walked out the door.

I love Dr evens, he is a good dr. But after having open heart surgery from another facility, I tried to set up a follow up to see Dr. Evens, do to some concerns I am having, and they couldn't manage to fit me in. I mean, what do I really have to do to be able to see my Dr? It was open heart surgery and that's not a good enough reason to fast track an appointment? It's really sad.

I have never had problems with Dr. Durham and my husband and I enjoy her and all the information she gives. We have seen her APRN a few times because Dr. Durham's appointments are sometimes months out. I will never take anyone to her again. Backstory: My husband has been experiencing passing out/seizures. When we saw Nikki Taylor, the Aprn, she laughed at our experiences and told him maybe my husband just had laughing sincope. When my husband asked what to do about that she covered her face with her paper, snickered, and said "quit laughing." My husband is 26 and we have small children. I was blown away by her response. Someone's life is not a joking matter. What if he had passed out while driving our children around? When I asked if his medications could be causing these reactions she said there was no way. As we saw another specialist to see what the problem was we learned the problem was one of his meds. We found out he had almost half of the side effects from lists given with the medication. I will say the one good thing was when I cried that he couldn't even play with our kids anymore she finally said we could run some more tests to see what was going on. I think she's probably a good doctor but just not for us. It's just not okay to make jokes when we've been struggling for months with issues that keep him from job and home.

These folks do not respect patients time. This is the second time that I sat in the waiting room for more than 30 minutes even though I had an appointment. When I asked the receptionist if they had forgotten about me I got a snarky remark. If my cardiologist were not top notch I would find a different office.
