Arkansas Cardiology

I usually see Dr. Strobel but he was out so, I saw a nurse practitioner big mistake I should have just waited to see him!!!

If I could give less than one star I would. My physician was a competent, caring physician but the billing practices from Baptist Health have changed. I was double billed a ridiculous amount for my December 2023 follow-up visit where I had nothing done but an EKG and a very brief visit by my physician. Entire thing from start to finish took less than 15 minutes. My insurance paid over $200 dollars and I paid a $40 co-pay plus an additional $80 dollars out of pocket. The people to call at Baptist for billing questions were rude and totally non helpful. When I said I had never been billed this much before in addition to my co-pay, I was literally told "Arkansas Cardiology is affiliated with Baptist Health. They can charge whatever they want. " This was after saying sorry she was laughing so much because they had breakfast every Friday with "the big boss" and they were excited about breakfast. Too bad they don't get half as excited about trying to help people with billing questions as they do about breakfast. I have changed clinics. There are too many other good cardiologists around to put up with overcharging and poor customer service!

Did a procedure that I didn't need and couldn't afford. I will never go back. Dr Watts didn't know why I was there on my first visit, then set me up for a CT scan, when I went back for my results, he came in said hello asked what I was there for. Then had to leave and call another Dr. to have them read my results. Not very professional in my opinion then ordered the procedure that was not needed. Then set up a follow up appointment which I cancelled.

I was referred here earlier this week but my PCP. An appointment was set up via MyChart, but today (3 days later) I get a notice I have a new appointment set up, but it was for earlier this month. It dates prior to my referral appointment with my PCP by a couple weeks. I called ACC to inquire, and am repeatedly told that was my original appointment. I tried to explain that it wasn't since I hadn't had my referral appointment at that time, and that I just received notice of it that morning, but kept getting talked over and down to by the scheduler. If the schedulers treat patients like this, what kind of care do the Dr provide? I have asked for a different referral. I do not want to be treated by a place that talks to their patients like 5 year olds who are incompetent. Obviously there was some type of error in the system. That was all the scheduler had to acknowledge, but to then continually tell me I was wrong and an appointment had to be moved due the Dr not being in those days was not called for. Again, the appointment she was saying was my original appointment predated my referral to the cardiologist and only showed up this morning. The two stars are for the promptness in posting my actual appointment scheduled for a future date, which I will hopefully be able to cancel.

I had an appointment with Dr Holloway who was very thorough and super nice and kind. Love his "Bedside Manner "!
