Staff is horrible. My doctor requested a follow up and they said I could not come in. I would have to start over as a new patient. This was an urgent request as I have to get surgery. When asked for the medical records directly from a doctor, they disregarded him. I filled out the forms online, but they did not send them. They said I had to come into their office and fill them out in person. The doctor they are fine. I have no problem with them, but their office staff is a complete joke.

As brief as possible, my name is Shane Byrd in case my Google username doesn't reflect that. Today, Dr Williams accused me of having "behavioral health problems" and "maybe we're not a good fit" in my recent visit after he made factual errors about topics of concern: bradycardia and vasovagal syncope. I'm inquisitive by nature and, apparently, that's a not a good fit at CVAM, or perhaps, just Dr Williams because I've had great doctors in the past here at CVAM. He's *that* doctor who gets insulted if I challenge his errant medical "wisdom" by my doing prior research on the internet. He wasn't taking ownership nor being helpful when I could demonstrate he was wrong. The internet is here to stay folks. The thing that would've prevented a falling out--a terrible doctor's visit, would've been a competent, knowledgable doctor who knew the answers to my questions. Failing that, try to be humble and not bristle when challenged by a patient--or, if the internet happens to be wrong, tell me why the internet is wrong. And then he does this weird jumping around, crosstalking technique that only frustrates the situation more because we were talking past each other. When he said "behavioral health problems" and "maybe we're not a good fit, I think in the same sentence. I'm guessing it was just a below-the-belt insult becuase we were having a confrontation about his lack of knowledge, and how I expected better communication and less crosstalk from my medical professional. So god knows what he meant by weighing in on my mental health. I'm not too offended because I don't care what he thinks of me. Here's another revealing and unpleasant quirk about Dr W from the recent past: From the moment he became my doctor just a couple years ago, he insisted that I get taken off of my at-home INR testing--a convenient method of regulating coumadin. I've been on coumadin for over 15 years up to that point. On my very first first in-person visit, he said I should to go Banner Baywood (or clinic of my choice) for INR testing because it's safer. I said, "no I'm not interested." Then one day his nurse called me and said "Dr Williams requires that all of his patients go in physically to Banner Baywood (or other clinics) to get their INR tested." I said, "What? So now he *demands* that I go to a clinic rather than do it at-home? I'll just have to switch doctors if that's a hard and fast rule of his because it's unreasonable and inconvenient." She put me on hold and said, "no don't switch, he'll allow the at-home testing." What is going on here? This is anti-patient behavior, it's unreasonable, and it's strange. I'm 36 years old and capable of handling my own meds and finger pricking, thank you very much. I've been a patient at CVAM since age 18, and i was doing CVAM's coumadin clinic for many years until the at-home testing became available after COVID. I'm 36 years old, I can handle it myself. Why do i need my hand held by a doctor who has a major "pucker" problem about at-home INR? I don't care how super safe a clinic is. I'm willing to run whatever crazy risk that your "doctoral wisdom" thinks is too unsafe. Thanks for your concern but no thanks. We never had an argument about it becuase he stopped demanding I switch away from the at-home INR. So fine, it was super dumb and annoying but not deal-breaking at that point. Looking back, this was a red flag. Yes, I grew increasingly frustrated in today's visit, justifiably. It started mild but then tensions grew for reasons that I explained. To his credit, at the end of our visit, "doctor" Williams wished me well, which I'll take. But it was also creepy if I'm being honest because he said, "I really wish you well" like 4 times in <1 min. I guess he wishes me well, right? I don't wish ill on anyone either, even if they're a terrible cardiologist.

Dr Desai is relaxed, confident in his knowledge and kind! Took over care from another doc and we feel much better under his management

Hard to believe it's a doctors office. Had an appointment made in only 2 days prior to Visit. Check in was a breeze, no waiting time out from our in the room. Dr desai was fast, knowledgeable, courtious, and easy to talk to. By the time I went to check out, all my info about future visits had already been relayed. UNBELIEVABLE. LOVE IT! Made what should have been an uncomfortable visit, very good. Thank you to the entire staff!

I believe CVAM is the most professional organization that I've ever been to. Compared to other cardiology offices I've been to, the difference is night and day. I went to another cardiology office previously and I felt like I was just a number. They spent very little time with me, said I was fine and that they'd see me in 6 months. ..a total joke. It was just the opposite at CVAM. CVAM actually took care of me and discovered some major problems that would have gone untreated at the other office. I can't recommend CVAM enough. It is very obvious that they really do care about you as a person and go the extra mile to make sure you are properly taken care of. The staff is excellent and always treat patients well, from what I've seen and experienced. If you are looking for a cardiologist, I wouldn't even consider any place other than CVAM. They are definitely top notch.
