At 66yo, I have been in the presence of many, many doctors (as a patient, family member of a patient, and even as a nurse in numerous healthcare settings). But NEVER have I ever encountered a doctor with as much compassion and willingness to listen as I have with Dr.Tendler. He makes you feel as if he has nothing else to do with his time, but hear about you and your concerns.
During my initial visit, he came into the room and began by asking me about the pain he intuitively could see that I was experiencing. When I told him that it had to do with my GI system, I was stunned that he asked further questions regarding the history of this limitation. After he had a clearer understanding of that medical concern (which was totally unrelated to why I was there to see him) he then took the time to calm my fears and give me hope.
Once I was less anxious and could feel something positive and not just my pain, he then spoke to me about the pacemaker that I needed to have implanted. Along with telling me that it was necessary, he also told me that he was going to get it scheduled ASAP, so that I could get on with the process of healing my Gastrointestinal system.
But this office visit wasn't even the most surprising encounter that I have had with Dr. Tendler. That would come a couple days later, when late in the afternoon on Friday (so, at the very end of his work week) he phoned me from a non-office number to ask me if I had any questions or concerns about the pacemaker implantation that was going to take place early in the morning on that coming Monday. My husband was within earshot of this phonecall and Dr. Tendler listened to his concerns too and even thanked him for his input!
What a doctor! What a compassionate person! What a lifesaver!

I have been to a LOT of doctors appointments the last few months, and I can wholeheartedly say Dr. Tendler was one of the most empathetic and personable doctors I've seen. It has been difficult feeling heard by doctors and it often takes a lot of fighting and advocating on my side to feel heard, but not with him. He took time to listen and was always doing so with a smile on his face. In addition, I've had my mom with me during my initial consultation and he spoke to her and didn't ignore her as many doctors have done before.
When I went to get my tilt table test done he was reassuring and made sure I had the best staff on hand to help ease my anxiety. When the appointment was finished he made sure we called my mom (with my approval) and he spoke to me and her as if we were both in the room. I always felt seen, heard, safe, and understood with him. I would recommend him to anyone.

Dr. Tendler is an excellent doctor! He's caring, listens well, and always makes good recommendations for my health management. He performed my PM surgery 3 years ago, and I always enjoy my follow-up visits with him and his staff.

On Feb 1, 2019, I placed a call to Dr. Tendler's office & his MA that I wanted to speak with him directly & could he call me. He did call me back as usual, same day, mins in fact, I informed him that my aunt was in the hospital again at Chandler Regional Hospital & this time she wasn't going to make it per the doctors( The only doctor I believed her health was failing was her longest providing doctor Dr. Hojatti) upon talking to Dr. Tendler, I requested him to come to the hospital when he could to deactivate my Aunt's Pacemaker for life ending expectations. He did come as usual with that big warm smile he has & a heart of glow to Not only deactivate the Pacemaker but he came with compassion of his patient to say his farewells, him & my aunt said so many pleasant words to each other but Never goodbyes, Dr. Tendler gave her comfort & made a big smile on her face. He spoke with other doctors & he read all her reports & agreed this time she wasn't going to make it. He talked to me & gave me strength & comforts & compliments for me to know I had been a great Caregiver & Niece to her.. On Feb 9, 2019- my Aunt passed away. I have been a patient of Dr Tendler for 10 years. Today I was treated terribly first by Myra but then especially by Daisy. She screamed at me, interrupted me, hung up on me three times! She is the medical assistant! Completely rude and unprofessional!
