Southwest Cardiovascular Associates: Ahmed Mohamed S MD

My name is James Leach. I consulted Dr Ahmed several years ago, and I thought he was wonderful - matchless. I can't imagine why anybody would give him a mere 3-star rating. I wouldn't go to anybody else.

Dr. Ahmed is good, and once in the office, the staff seem adequate. However, it is almost impossible to call and talk to a real person. They have put me on hold for over 10-15 minutes on many occasions, and no one comes on. I have finally given up and just hung up. Poor customer service.

Describe my experience? NO STARS would have been our preference but Google insist you leave 1 star in order to leave feedback. We went to Vegas ASAP to get away from these clowns at Southwest Cardiovascular. Dr. Ahmed did ZERO to assist in the heart condition. He would run an EKG every visit, not look at it and then tell us "Everything is good. You're fine, see you in 90 days". That was even after a visit to E.R. And nothing happened in our visit with Ahmed so how would everything be Okay after going to the ER just from a 10 minute meeting? Later we obtained copies of EKG where they show "Abnormal EKG", Dr. Ahmed never looked at them or didn't know what he was looking at. This place is so greedy, the will way overbook "Customers"(not patients, no one cares here the patients are just cattle being packed in for them to milk out) rather then just state not accepting new patients. This guy is way too old to still be practicing and it shows how greedy can you be? When it's past your time to retire and still take on a patient workload more than you handle. Your wait is 2.5 hours beyond your scheduled appt time. Dr. Ahmed is so tired he literally is falling asleep in our visits & not listening. My spouse had a heart attack AFTER leaving Dr. Ahmed's office when they were told "everything is fine, yes go lift weights, go exercise"...FYI the heart attack didnt happen after lifting weights. We find out later Southwest Cardiovascular relationship was terminated by another Heart & Vascular affiliate in Las Vegas from several issues including Dr. Alfafara's negligence/ignorance. We first hand we experienced his 'craziness' here at the E.R.s locally. A complete quack - Test had to be performed all over again he signed off on and gave no diagnoses on a general heart condition other Dr. have no problems identifying. Other experience with Alfafara he was so hung up on checking blood sugar and thought he caught my spouse in a lie when my spouse said he'd been 'misdiagnosed with Diabetes before'. So rather then address the Heart Attack my spouse was in the hospital for, at the direction of Alfafara the staff was coming in every 2 hours checking Blood sugar and yet never bothered to look at the A1C which was well below the guideline for being close to diabetic. Meanwhile, Cardiologist later ask what was done for the Heart Attack we explain nothing, other Dr.s are shocked. There are literally numerous errors & just plain details of this places incompetence we could go on & on about. But IF you truly care about your loved one, go somewhere else. Your first impression, inside something telling you get up and leave, IS RIGHT.....while you're waiting (way beyond your scheduled appt time) in the waiting room and seeing how bad off everyone is that comes in there is a real good indication that ppl don't do well at this place. My spouse & I went to 2 other Cardiologist in Vegas and at both offices Drs see you at you appt time and other patients are improving when you speak with them. TO TOP EVERYTHING OFF DR. AHMED SENDS ALL YOUR PERSONAL MEDICAL INFORMATION/MEDICAL RECORDS TO PAKISTAN. I am sure no one knows their personal medical data is sitting in another country! We only found this out when we tried to obtain copies of the medical records and was told it would take 2 weeks to get them from Pakistan. Pakistan?!?!? Talking about a major HIPPA law conflict. If you read this, and you decide you still use his services just remember it's only your heart you're taking a chance with.

He fixed my heart... I am forever grateful. That's all I will say. 5stars.
