Porter Heart & Vascular Center

This review is for NP Kari Gondeck!! My husband was seeing a Cardiologist there who our primary Dr referred him to when he was having very scary symtoms. The Cardiologist saw him heard the symptoms & sent him home without doing anything other than telling him to let him know if the symtoms get worse. Well... my husband went home & shortly after had a stroke at 1am! We were told after FMH released him to follow up with Cardiologist. So when we returned to him he entered the room & sarcastically asked "Well, why didn't you see anyone when you were having symtoms?" My husband being the patient/kind one didn't say anything So it was my turn I looked righr at the Dr & said "We did!" He asked "Who did you go to?" Again I looked him right in the eye & said "That would be YOU!" He didn't say a word, wheelled his chair backwards to his computer, read what I'm assuming was the prior notes, never responded (let alone apologised) & continued the appointment like there wan't a serious issue. Needless to say we never went back to him! We had to make another appointment for my husband & were scheduled with the NP. Best thing Ever!!!! Kari Gondeck is by far the Best physician in Fairbanks & let me tell you between the both of us & all of our medical issues we've seen tons. NP Gondeck literally ran every test possible to rule out everything. She goes over meds, symptoms, concerns & anything we want every single appointment! We never feel rushed & walk out everytime feeling reassured that all was taken care of & if we need her we 100'/. know she is there for us! Porter Heart... You are so lucky to have her, Please let her know she is Appreciated

Talked to them at least 4 times about my daughter's appointment (they had to reschedule, multiple times). I called to reschedule because my high school aged daughter had a final. Whoever was on the phone said something to the effect of "nobody called you?" They told me they don't see pediatric patients. You don't notice her date of birth when I confirmed it the last four times we talked? Useless. Waited months for this appointment.

Went in scheduled for a test that was ordered by my primary care provider and after waiting for an egregious amount of time - rather than administering my ordered test - I was told by Porter's provider I was too young to be having issues and most likely nothing was wrong. I was advised to work out and drink water, both of which I already do as a young and fit person. My primary care provider was disheartened to hear that the test she ordered had not been administered, I was also disheartened as it felt like a total waste of time.

I was anxious about having the nuclear stress test today but Mike Painter was excellent at explaining the procedure and allayed my fears. Really nice and made me feel comfortable with his expertise. Nurse Abby and Veronica were outstanding as well. I did not get the receptionist name, but she provided excellent customer service. They were the A team today. Thank you!

My husband is a new patient and everything we've seen and the Dr. he saw were absolutely awesome they took their time aloud us as much time for ?'s as WE needed very wonderful Dr. I liked him so much that I'm going to change my Dr. I hope this useful to you.
