Patient
Emergency Room needs shut down. I had got out of that hospital with a piccline earlier that day. Had high heart rate and heart fluttering so called the number they gave me. Was told to go to that emergency room. Walked in around 7pm and it wasn't busy so thought it would go smoothly. It did not. Immediately felt like they thought I was faking. The one time the dr came in, you could tell he had no interest. They drew labs and even gave me a drug screen for some reason which I thought was odd cause I wasn't there for pain or any medications. I found out through patient portal my cardiac numbers were high bc after 3 hours not 1 soul came back to the room. I hit the call light for the triage nurse to finally come back there on 4th hour and gave my 4 aspirin. The nurse came back in shortly after to draw more labs. I waited another hour to completely be ignored again. I finally walked out after over 5 hours after I had no updates the whole time I was there. As I was walking out, the dr pretended he was looking at the computer and the 4 nurses were sitting behind their station, leaning back in their chairs, just talking. Not 1 said anything to me as I was leaving. The fact that I thought I was having heart issues and still left thinking I could die should tell you how bad this experience was. I literally had less than 10 minutes worth of interactions with all the medical personnel in the over 5 hours I was there. Im pretty sure my care was based on me being white bc the people that weren't white seemed to be in and out within an hour or two. Even though I give the orthopedic section of this hospital 5 stars, I will never step back on this property bc of this one visit.
