Emergency Room needs shut down. I had got out of that hospital with a piccline earlier that day. Had high heart rate and heart fluttering so called the number they gave me. Was told to go to that emergency room. Walked in around 7pm and it wasn't busy so thought it would go smoothly. It did not. Immediately felt like they thought I was faking. The one time the dr came in, you could tell he had no interest. They drew labs and even gave me a drug screen for some reason which I thought was odd cause I wasn't there for pain or any medications. I found out through patient portal my cardiac numbers were high bc after 3 hours not 1 soul came back to the room. I hit the call light for the triage nurse to finally come back there on 4th hour and gave my 4 aspirin. The nurse came back in shortly after to draw more labs. I waited another hour to completely be ignored again. I finally walked out after over 5 hours after I had no updates the whole time I was there. As I was walking out, the dr pretended he was looking at the computer and the 4 nurses were sitting behind their station, leaning back in their chairs, just talking. Not 1 said anything to me as I was leaving. The fact that I thought I was having heart issues and still left thinking I could die should tell you how bad this experience was. I literally had less than 10 minutes worth of interactions with all the medical personnel in the over 5 hours I was there. Im pretty sure my care was based on me being white bc the people that weren't white seemed to be in and out within an hour or two. Even though I give the orthopedic section of this hospital 5 stars, I will never step back on this property bc of this one visit.

My husband had knee replacement surgery on 10/24/25. Our experience was awesome from the time we walked in the door! We were met by the sweetest lady at the registration desk. She made us feel like we were about to embark on a cruise. Dr. Fernicola, the anesthesia team & surgical staff did a great job explaining everything to us & keeping me informed before, during & after my husband's surgery. A few shout outs to 4th floor staff...Kristin, Marcus, Deedee, Hannah, Tanya, Dietary Ladies on 10/24 & 10/25 & the young lady assisting customers in the cafeteria on 10/24. Wow, you guys were amazing with care, concern & fabulous customer service! We can't say enough good things about JHMH & staff!

My brother came here because he couldn't breathe. So they tested him for Covid and the flu and left out the room and left him wheezing for 30 minutes. They sent him home with Tylenol and refused to give him a breathing treatment. Never have I seen this level of neglect. The doctor comes in and says calm down and smirked. Like what?? Is that your level of patient care? I don't know if it's because he's black or what but it's not adding up. His name is Andre Spriggs so you can pull the records and verify this review because it's very accurate. Discrimination is what I am leaning towards and consulting a lawyer because this is not okay at all. This was the physician Dr.Joesph Conklin

Always very professional. The lady that greets you at the front desk Pam is a friend and an angel. She's always upbeat and tries to take away any nerves or anxiety you may be having about your visit. I've had hip, knee and shoulder replacement here and the staff is amazing and are really concerned about their patients wellbeing. Dr Gudger and his team go above and beyond. I highly recommend if you ever need an orthopedic procedure.

I will NEVER visit this ER again. I arrived at 6:32 AM. I was brought to the back, triaged, and put in a room where I waited. I got up and asked for a cup due to having to urinate. Afterwards, I waited for a hour before asking a nurse when I would be seen. I saw all the nurses and doctor sitting at their station. I overheard them talk about me saying I had been waiting for a hour and then Okeakpu, Donald, MD came into the room. He seemed very nonchalant. He asked a few questions, placed his stethoscope on my chest then back, asked if I could leave a urine.. which I had already done. Once he walked out, a lady walked in and asked for my SSN number. I questioned her first before releasing the info. I stated " I'm not trying to tell you how to do your job but you're suppose to always introduce yourself so people know who you are and what certain things are for". She was very polite and understanding. She came back to gove me more info but she properly introduced herself this time. Another hour go by and I walk out to use the restroom. I notice everyone sitting down communicating. Once the nurse and I made eye contact, she jumped up to go towards the medicine area. Once I was back in the room, she brought me medicine. I asked her how much longer would it be for the Dr to come back in due to me being the ONLY pt in ER at the time. She stated she'd ask for me. Minutes go by and she comes back with discharge papers. I politely asked her why hadn't the Dr been back in to discuss things with me, let me know what my urine was being tested for, or just discuss everything. She then looked puzzled and asked, " He didn't come talk to you? Let me go get him." I told her it was ok, I'd waited long enough to sit and hear him communicate with the other nurses about him being vegan and etc.. I was ready to go. When I walked out to leave, I saw him standing in a room across from other nurses just talking and they were laughing. I came in to be treated for Indigestion and left with only paperwork. No spoken knowledge or advice given. I got there at 632 and left at 840. I had to turn around to ask for a work excuse and was given a attitude and met at the door by another nurse who quickly handed me a paper and closed the door on me. I will never visit again.
