Dr. Charles R. Burns, MD

Dr. Burns and his staff are incredible! Nothing short of kind and helpful. So very caring and thorough and efficient. My husband had a "random" emergency AFib event back in November. Ever since we have been learning about this condition and becoming more and more aware of his "triggers" and what can cause an episode. We discovered Dr. Burns and his staff from a google search. He is such a sweet and precious doctor! Yet so thorough and so very smart! His team cares and are responsive in getting back with you. It has truly been a blessing to discover him and his team! Dr. Burns has been my doctor for over 10 years. He is to the point and honest with you about YOUR problems. He will offer guidance and help and will go out of his way to help you to get healthy but you have to have the drive to want to get there. He is the best cardiologist in the southeast. Don't expect him to sugar coat anything. He will explain it to you in terms you can understand and will not be typing away on some tablet making you feel like you are some ignorant person. He respects you and truly wants to see you get better. His new facility is so much nicer than his previous office at the hospital. The nurses are also just great and make you feel right at home. Seeing a specialist can sometimes be stressful but Dr. Burns and staff set me at ease and I owe him a great amount of thanks.

I have known Dr. Burns for many years as a friend and fellow aviator. Although I myself have had the blessing of good health, I have long been aware of Dr. Burns exceedingly fine reputation as a cardiologist. I have always known that if I should ever have an issue with my heart, he would be the only doctor I would trust to sort things out. Recently, while flying a corporate jet trip in Asia, I needed to renew my FAA Medical. During the appointment, some questions arose with my EKG. I immediately contacted Dr. Burns and despite the 12 hour time difference he took my call and immediately began the process of understanding the situation and working to resolve it. Despite not feeling ill, nor having any symptoms, I was told I would need an expanded cardiac evaluation right away in order to maintain my license to fly. Within 48 hours I was on a flight from Hong Kong to Huntsville. Dr. Burns worked me into his schedule, reviewed my FAA medical records from the preceding 7 years and performed a thorough evaluation to find out what might be going on with me. Fortunately, the tests revealed I am in good health but without Dr. Burns' help I would most likely have found myself out of my profession for months or even years, working through a very challenging system to return to work. Instead, through his thoughtful and meticulous care, I was able to return to work with a clean bill of health and a freshly renewed Medical, a mere 5 days from the start of the entire adventure. in addition to helping me to keep my profession and livelihood intact, Dr. Burns educated and redirected my thoughts on my health in a much more positive direction. If you have a heart issue, Dr. Burns is the one you want to help you, even if you have to travel half way around the world.

I have been seeing Dr. Burns for years. He is one of the leading, if not the best Cardiologists in Huntsville. He has always gone the extra mile to work me into the schedule and has taken excellent care of me. He genuinely cares about, and for his patients, one and all. He takes the time to explain results of tests in a manner that is understandable to lay vocabularies such as mine. He is probably the most accomplished person I have ever met. His background in medicine is vast and he continues to receive accolades for recent accomplishments. He is also an accomplished pilot of both airplanes and helicopters. Just an all around good guy. Not only is Dr. Burns kind and attentive to his patients needs, so are all of his office staff. Best doctor I have ever had, bar none.

I have been a patient of Dr. Burns for over 20 years and I think he is the best cardiologist I've had in my 64 years. He is always professional in my treatment, he knows exactly what needs to be done when it comes to the heart. The doctor also has a great bedside manner. I would highly recommend Dr. Burns to anyone with heart trouble, he's always come through for me.
