I am a caretaker for a patient of Dr Scalise. We met him in the hospital before he performed a procedure on the gentleman I take care of. He was very nice and explanatory. After the gentleman was released from the hospital it took no time for the office to call with a follow up appointment. At the appointment he was seen by Mr. Cofield (a nurse practitioner) and he was just as awesome if not better. He was very Pleasant and extremely patient with my friend. My friend is on a good regiment of medications to keep him from going into heart failure. His primary doctor Filled the medication's after his first prescription prescriptions ran out however they did not fill all of the medication's for his heart and the next month his primary refused to fill any of his medication's so I reached out to Dr. Scalise's Office and they not only allowed me to speak with the nurse immediately but also called in all of the medication's. My friend requires on a daily basis. I can't say enough awesome things about this Office and the care they give and thank you for treating me.( The caregiver) And my friend, who is very challenged mentally with such concern, respect and just a listening ear.

My dad had a heart Cath on July 3rd after being admitted to the hospital. We saw the Nurse practitioner 1 time before the heart cath. We were told Dr. Railwah would call after HE DIDNT. When my dad was brought back to the room the Cath nurses told us he would come to the room to talk to us. This was at 1:00 in the afternoon. We never saw or heard from him. My dad asked could he go home. They released him after 5:00pm. Still have not talked to Railwah. This is ridiculous.

The Gadsden office is a MESS, latest INR done on Tuesday as of Friday they have not contacted me with dosage instructions. Absolutely UNACCEPTABLE from a cardiology practice.
Got your canned response. Will go thru the weekend without hearing from your office. Absolutely disgraceful what this office is pulling. DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE. PERIOD. NOT kidding.
Well, reached out today at 10:18 to get my inr and dosage, no reason why I had to call them after a 6 day wait. I also left name and number for office manager to call. No response yet. Must be too busy. Actively seeking a new cardiologist.

My wife had to be rushed to hospital by ambulance. They sent her to RMC in anniston instead of gadsden. My wife had dangeroulsy low blood pressure and passed out and went unresponsive l She was stabelized after over two days of treatment and told to see her Cardiologist in Gadsden. She called today to make an appointment . After explaining her situation she was told she can't get in until July to see her doctor. She was told they couldn't do anything for her that was their earliest appointment. Now she was just in the hospital with an unstalble heart and they can't see her until then. I am not happy.
update after talking to the office manager, we now have an appointment within the next week. She was very helpful.

Well, it looks like I may be one of the only positive reviews for this practice, at least in recent reviews. I was referred here to see Dr Benn, the electrophysiologist, by my cardiologist after wearing a heart monitor. The only negative part of my entire experience was it took them two weeks to call me with an appointment but I figured my cardio dropped the ball. This office was honest enough to tell me they received the referral the day after my cardio visit but that they dropped the ball getting my insurance verified or something like that. I appreciated their honesty!! I got my appointment really pretty quickly which was refreshing because ever since I moved here from the Atlanta area, I've been mortified by the wait times to be seen by specialists. Once I got to the office I started reading the abysmal reviews on here while I was waiting to be seen. I was a bit worried at that point!! There were a large number of people in their large waiting room so I was even more worried I'd be waiting all day, but again, to my delight, I was called back within about 5 minutes!! And, my appt was at 1:00 but I didn't get there until a few min after because I went to the wrong place, so I really expected a much longer wait. Once back, April immediately did an ECG very efficiently. I thought, "ok, so now the wait begins". But again, in about 5 min, Dr Benn came in, introduced himself and sat right in front of me to discuss why I was there. I loved that he did not have his nose in a computer but looked me in the eyes the entire time he was speaking to me. He made me feel so much better about my situation. He explained things very well and didn't jump into a lot of unnecessary testing. My cardio didn't send him my last heart monitor study, so Dr Benn said he would get that and if he saw anything that was concerning to him, he would call me himself within a couple weeks, but otherwise, I can follow up in 6 months. Dr Benn spent all the time I needed to get my questions answered. I didn't feel like he was trying to escape to get to his next patient like with so many other specialists. I really liked him and the way he listened to everything I was saying. I have a lot of confidence in him. He is top notch. Hopefully this office can work on the complaints in the negative reviews because my experience here was very positive.
