We are currently sitting with our family as my father-in-law is having open heart surgery - an aortic valve replacement for severe AI with CABG. Dr. Parks ignored my father-in-law for weeks, his concerns and symptoms. Finally we moved on to another provider, Dr. Ahmed, who knew something was wrong and took him into his service same-day at UAB (we highly recommend Dr. Ahmed by the way). We just received a letter from Dr. Parks office indicating my father-in-law had a normal echocardiogram. NORMAL. We would advise all patients of Dr. Parks seek care elsewhere.

Horrible experience. I had AVNRT with severe recurring SVT and they were very slow to treat me and just wanted to put a bandaid on things. After my third ambulance ride and dose of adenosine it was still hard for me to get follow up and a referral for an ablation. Finally- my primary care dr (not my cardiologist whos job it was) referred me to a EP specialist at UAB and I ended up have not one but TWO cardiac ablations to fix all of my issues that this group ignored. If i hadnt been a healthcare provider and dilligent in being my own patient advocate in this matter i very well could have died.
