If Google would let me put a 0 star review, I would. I was admitted to Sacred Heart September 17th 2022, and Dr dettbarn was the doctor i had. I had gained a 100 pounds of water weight in less than a week and I was told that I have heart failure. Being a 29 year old single mother of 3 children, this is not a good situation to be in. Dr. Dettbarn kept me there one night and sent me home telling me he was positive that I have sleep apnea. After 2 negative tests, I talked my family doctor to refer me to a new cardiologist. She told me that she likes Dr kluge and referred me to him. I went to see him in office and he told me that I needed to stop taking ibuprofen for pain (I have had chronic neck and back pain for the last 20 years due to falling out of a tree and having a negligent emergency room doctor then as well, they refused to do imaging, if they had done the imaging then, the injurys would have been treatable. It wasn't until 6 years ago that a doctor finally listened and did the imaging. Too late to be fixed). I explained the injury to Dr. Kluge, admitting that the ibuprofen hardly touches the pain but without it I can't get out of bed and the pain causes my blood pressure to be very high (5 blood pressure meds to keep it stable). He proceeded to tell me that I needed to stop taking the ibuprofen and a couple other medications, explaining to me that these are what's causing the water retention. I broke down crying, asking what I can take for the pain, he told me that I would have to suffer that all pain meds would cause one reaction or another. Fast forward till I was able to see my family doctor again, she tells me that Dr. Kluge told her that my heart is failing due to opiate use! I have been prescribed opiates in the past after different surgeries and for kidney stones, but have not been on them for a long time. I am now 2 months into my diagnosis and am no closer to knowing any answers to why. I am beyond disappointed in Dr kluge and would not recommend him to my worst enemy. Sorry for the long review but I wanted it to be clear.
