Mon Health Cancer Center

The staff here is compassionate and gentle. Dr. McBee is simply amazing. He takes time to answer questions and listen to concerns. The few times I have had to wait, it was because of a patient emergency. When I have to call, my call is always returned in a timely manner. I willingly drive more than an hour just to be treated by the doctors and nurses at Mon General Cancer Center.

As a person who works for a doctor's office and regularly refers patients to the cancer center, I am disappointed in the turnaround that I get from the cancer center. When you call, it goes to voicemail and half the time the voicemail says they are closed. In addition, they won't seem to schedule anything without just about ALL the patient's medical record. Now, I understand that those are necessary in order for physicians to see patients. I also understand from a legal perspective that you can't diagnose or treat patients without it. However, my biggest complaint is that for a cancer center where they are dealing with patients who are very sick, the staff doesn't seem very concerned or as if they care. I've heard wonderful things about the physicians and while that is important, the staff are who you patients as well as other doctor's offices deal with on a regular basis. I am just upset that there doesn't seem to be more care involved.

The staff at the cancer center are extraordinarily compassionate and caring. They treat patients as family and honored guests at the same time.

Sitting in an exam room with a senior citizen for almost an hour waiting for a doctor to arrive. Went out to ask the nursing staff if she will be seen soon. Was given attitude by the nurse.
