I cannot say enough goodness about this place....and the employees. It been a God-send for me for the last 13 years....with two separate pups...which have merely been my "kids" as I have none.
I was referred here back in 2012 from a previous customer of my own. I had a 2012 year old chocolate lab which had a vascular hemangeomic tumor that was in rapid growth.
Dr Laura Quindt initially took me on as a client with Hershey and did "so right" by him.. At every turn, she implemented her care, empathy, concern and honest approach and opinions. I felt really blessed to have found SUCH a compassionate vet for my pup...as many can be "sellish" and feel like you're constantly getting sold on services. NEVER have I felt that way here......
Hershey passed in 2012 and in came Duke in 2019....right before COVID. I was in this place the first week that I had Duke, after he swallowed a rubber door-stop as I wrapped Christmas gifts. It was late at night and they were just about to close....yet they took Duke in and solved his blockage with a simple Ipecac and reasonable bill at Christmas time. Duke was only 8 weeks old, but he already got exposed to the vet, and they really eased his quirky personality. I truly believe that that day set the tone for him moving forward for his vet experiences.
Dr Quindt retired, and in came Dr Mitchell....who was cut from the same cloth and Dr Quindt, so kind....so caring and so attentive. She continually looked out for duke and his continual Ear issues/infections. She gave a conservative approach with great home instructions and helped me during Covid with home care, to cut down on my expensive and frequent need for visits.
A short year down the road, a new doc entered the picture for Duke...a young "kid" that I believe had just completed the Vet program at WSU.
Right away, he blew me away with his introduction, soft-spoken = and genuine heart...it was SO apparent, his LOVE for animals.....and Duke immediately. He introduced himself as Dr Jason Adam and I was so ecstatic about him and the role I felt like he'd play in Duke's health.
I truly left there blown away at what a "nice kid" he was and recall saying it to the girls at the front desk. They all agreed that they were so lucky to have him.
As the last 2 yrs or so have gone by, Dr. Adam has continally impressed me with his kindness, poise, compassion, care, concern, attentiveness, details, time and just plain LOVE for Duke. it literally gives me goose-pimples and makes my lip quiver.
Duke ABSOLUTELY LOVES going there and seeing Dr. Adam....in spite of his aching ears and distain for humans messing with them. Dr. Adam is so gentle and loving with Duke and literally tells me upon each visit, that this is why he does what he does....for pups like Duke...who is my "kid" and my life.
Dr. Adam's approach is the best I've seen in my 24 years of being a lab momma......truly. He feels like family and I would never want my pups to see another.....so hope he retires here :) He was just promoted to Medical Director, so I'm hopeful that that is a longterm sign. :)
You won't be sorry if you pay this place a visit. It is SO dear to my heart and Dr. Adam won't disappoint. He must have really great parents, because he's a gem. Truly THE BEST!
Dorothy at the front desk has been there for years as well and is SUCH an asset!

I have to say, my experience at Cottage Lake Veterinary Hospital has been nothing short of incredible. Every single staff member goes above and beyond, and you can feel how much they truly care.
But I especially want to thank Dr. Miller from the bottom of my heart. The compassion, patience, and dedication he showed while caring for my dog, Max, meant more than I can put into words. I was terrified that Max would never recover from the pain she was in, but Dr. Miller gave her not just treatment, but comfort, hope, and a chance to heal.
Seeing Max happy and herself again is a blessing I'll never forget. I'm deeply grateful for the love and care they gave her. Special thanks to Dr. Miller

I have had nothing but positive experiences with Dr. Hoover and the vet assistants/techs that I have worked with! My recently adopted kitten has been having blood in her urine and so far tests are showing nothing but Dr. Hoover has her on some meds that seem to be helping and they've been nothing but gentle and sweet to my kitty and treating her as if she were their own. I cannot recommend Cottage Lake Vet enough even after working for a different vet hospital!

We started going here about 10 yrs ago. My dog was hit by a car and I went to our normal vet since they were still open. They didn't even look at him and said they were closing soon to take him to the ER. At the Er is was determined that he needed to have the leg removed. But their surgeon was not available they called around to multiple vets. It was Dr Lubecks day off but she came in to do the surgery. They were awesome that was 10 years ago. Toby lived a long life. For his last few years we were there every month getting injections to help keep him going. This last week my other dog was having issues so we went in for testing and as we were waiting for the results she worsened. So I took her to the ER that wanted to do surgery at a cost of over 20k. I had them make her comfortable for the night and contacted Cottage Lake in the morning. Dr Miller was able to do the surgery for a lot less so we were able to afford it. She is doing wonderful and I am so grateful. Yes we do have pet insurance. She is 8 yr so we wanted to make sure her quality would still be there after surgery. Dr Miller even called me on Sunday to make sure she how she is doing. It is a little drive for us to go here but I don't mind.

We have brought all three of our cats to Cottage Lake for some time now, and while we have always been impressed with the level of care they have received, this past month has been a great indicator, to us, of how much this team values its patients.
When our elderly cat started showing symptoms of an eye problem, we were given medication and lots of support over the phone, as well as referrals to specialists. After we realized the wait time for being seen by a specialist was going to be longer than anticipated, Dr. Miller offered to work with us to find a solution. While our cat did end up needing a surgery to resolve his issue, my husband and I felt like he was in the best hands at Cottage Lake, and we have been truly impressed with how informative and helpful that have been during the recovery.
Their prices are reasonable and they are able to schedule appointments fairly quickly. Their office is a bit of a drive for us, but we feel it's worth it for the care they receive!
