My dad died here yesterday and they would not let me see his body for one second. There's also no parking for a three block radius. When I pulled up to the emergency room they told me he was in a room and I could see him and when I finally got back they told me they took him to the morgue so I couldn't see him. I also found out the hard way that you have to pay a mortuary service to pick up the body so you can pay them to be able to see your loved one. My advice would be connect with the volunteers they have the most compassion. Stay away from the ER nurses they're like machines and have no empathy. I went with Valor Memorial for the most affordable options.

My husband ended up in the Emergency location In South hill and they did every test and stated his gallbladder "looked funny".... gave him some pills and sent him home... Umm don't you do something further? So we went home.. It got worse..Ended up at the hospital.. The ER doctor was a jerk.. I am sure he knows people go there seeking medicine but he could clearly see my husband hasn't went to a doctor in over 10 years and so he's not one of those people... They did all the tests over and a few more and same thing... "Hm your gallbladder looks funny but we don't see stones"... so they decided to keep him inpatient. We told every doctor that came in this same issue has been going on a year but he just dealt with it but now he can't breath.. we told them his dad had gallbladder out and similar symptoms with no gallstones.. Nobody would listen... 4 days he laid in the hospital starved with no answers. They did multiple tests and all of them showed something with the gallbladder. The gallbladder then started to affect his liver and turned him yellow then they were saying liver failure then blamed his heart. Heart came out fine. Then they started to say his protein powder and his Monster could have caused liver failure? What?? Are you hearing yourself? So then they finally decide to feed him and what happens right after? Horrible pain. So the surgeon finally believes us and listens to all their scans and said ok we will do surgery. They take out gallbladder. He stops being yellow and everything starts going better and then they pretty much kick you out the next day.. We got all our tests and 120K so leave! During this entire stay not one doctor would come in and talk to us about what was happening. I learned EVERYTHING on the portal. I learned the test and all the notes and I was the one asking questions to nurse for ANYONE that would come in. They wouldn't say anything. This had to be the worst experience ever but also it was our first ever time going to a hospital. Going forward we will never go here...if they want proper care and doctors that listen I recommend going anywhere else. Dr D the surgeon wouldn't even really look at me after surgery as I told him for 5 days what the issue was.... He stated Oh wow that was double the size, I am pretty sure we fixed the issue:... Geee thanks... I should probably contact the hospital and do a report against all of them..

Not very happy with the help we had. We asked for my dad to be tested for a stroke. The Dr would not test him. He was confused because he had Alz.he was falling down a lot. We knew something was wrong. He was given antibiotics for pneumonia and wanted to release him home! He needed help. He wasn't eating. He was choking on his food. He was taken in the midnight before Thanksgiving. He spent 3 days in pain with his brain bleeding. There were no signs of bumps or bruises. He couldn't talk. He just held my hand tightly as if to say he loved me. He was finally tested and had a stroke. He was moved to Avalon Nursing Home to be given more pain medication and morphine. He didn't know how to communicate anymore. Was very healthy and no high blood pressure or diabetes. Had polyp that could not be operated on for years because of his age. He always said please, have a good day, and how are you feeling today Karin. We miss you dad. Avalon in Tacoma helped keep in touch. Died Dec 6 4:27 am. We miss you dad .

My sister was admitted for a psychotic break and they let her go from the ER after they asked her if she knew her name, birthday, and where she was. She was asked questions after she was given relaxers. Are you actually kidding me? She came to our living space just as psychotic and we had to send her away because she was still in a psychotic episode and the relaxers had worn off and she started to get aggressive again. They didn't even have a psychiatrist evaluate her it was some random company. This is outrageous and dangerous for her and others. Shame on this hospital. They used to have a better program but this is actually horrific.

I went to the ER with severe pelvic pain and concern for ovarian torsion/possible ectopic pregnancy, with imaging confirming dilated fallopian tubes. I was discharged with no treatment--just a urology referral--despite a sustained HR over 150 and very high blood pressure. I asked to speak with the attending; the nurse said my request was denied. I left feeling unsafe and unheard. Good Samaritan exists to serve the public. Patients are the point. As a private, nonprofit community hospital.it is us, the community that keeps you running--please put patient safety over optics.
