Olympic Medical Center

I ended up in the emergency room August 2025. The medical team was awesome. Sara was so helpful, and the girls from the lab - Dani, Ally, and Amanda were absolutely warm and lovely! The nurses were also friendly and caring. I was especially overwhelmed with gratitude by the kindness Meredith showed me - she went above and beyond. I had no one to check on my cat, and she not only went to my home and gave her food and water, but cleaned her litter and bought her new food! There are amazing humans on that team.

July 30th 2025 I underwent a double surgery procedure the same afternoon under Dr. Sheena Plamoottil (ob gyn) and Dr. Georgia Heisterkamp ( gastro) and I absolutely had fantastic care. The staff beginning with (from where I remember) Telemetry, Lori and Skylar ( the ladies I remember) took great care and interest in my every step to moving to the next level of my stay. As I progressed into my own room, I want to say Drew was the best nurse throught my stay on his floor until i was duscharged. Very attentative, very understanding and very comforting. And besides a positive recover with very mild discomfort and limited need for pain meds other then Tylenol and pepcid, i want to also mention the food. It was great. Amazing menu. Call and order 730 am til 630 pm. And with the Strait of Juan de Fuca right outside my window, it was almost like being on vacation...lol. I am very thankful to my Doctors for the excellent job they did and the entire staff that got me comfortable through each day. Thank you again OMC

My daughter was recently very sick, we were treated with such kindness in the ED. They took our concerns seriously and made sure my sweet girl was comfortable and her fever and heartrate was stable before they would let us leave. They even called the next day to check on her! Shout out to Julianna, PA-C, Brittany, and Hannah! You Guys are so wonderful

I am so thankful for the emergency team that treated my husband on the evening of July 19, 2025. They knew exactly what was wrong immediately and treated him, basically keeping him alive, and made the immediate decision to transfer him by life flight to a cardiac hospital that could do the procedure he needed. I appreciate so much that they acknowledged that he needed more than they could offer, but yet could help to stabilize him the best they could to get him transported. My husband is alive today and doing well because of their great team in the emergency room. They were all so friendly and compassionate but yet very professional!

The quality of care is hit and miss. It really depends on the provider you get, how long they have been out of school.... But the people at the front desk and in the billing office can be rude and difficult to work with. The billing seems unfair. I've had unnecessary and expensive procedures done in the emergency room that even at the time I've questioned and in hindsight didn't made sense. The billing doesn't always make sense and I don't get much help when I call in before asking about potential costs. They are subpar compared to any place I've been to from Everett to Olympia or Silverdale. It's better than nothing for sure, but if going else where is an option, do it. I personally hope they get taken over by a larger , more competent, more patient focused outfit.
