This is my first time seeing a cardiologist! I have RA, and it's slowly affecting my heart. Dr. Maidan is a holistic cardiologist with a calm, attentive demeanor. He's the old school type with pen and paper with amazing bedside manners! He took my concerns of dizziness, vertigo, shortness of breath and chronic fatigue seriously. I left the office with a 48hr CAM heart monitor to assess my symptoms. Dr. Maidan took the time to educate me on the link between autoimmune conditions and heart disease. He even demonstrated on his phone (using flashlight settings) the limitations of chest xrays. Excellent clinician! He even took time to get to know me, and chat about my career plans. Worth the months of waiting.
PROS:
1. Staff takes MANUAL blood pressure! This is huge! The automatic cuffs always spike my BP.
2. EKG done in exam room- no need to schedule an appt elsewhere.
3. Front desk staff are friendly, professional and respectful.
CONS:
1. 3+ months waiting list.
2. Parking can be a hassle-- just park in the central parking garage.

Excellent physician! Dr. Maiden had read all my records, listened to my new concerns, answered all questions, and offered the best solutions, based on my individual needs. He was relaxed, personable, and respectful, with a good sense of humor. Best for me, he offered several natural solutions to my challenge and understood my not wanting to take pharmaceuticals. He gave me the best explanation of the causes & nuances of my condition that I've ever heard. I was offered a clear path to solve my discomfort with diet & exercise or, if I chose, safe medication. Good choices. Thanks, Dr Maiden! See you in one year.

Rubin Maidan has been my cardiologist since relocation to Washington in 2013. He has worked in conjunction with my naturopathic doctor to provide high quality, patient-centered care. He has been consistently respectful of my choices with a focus on mind-body-spirit healing. Following my heart attack in 2008, I was put on beta-blockers whose side-effects carried me from severe depression to outright despair. I discontinued these meds but was still challenged to lower my blood pressure. Dr. Maidan suggested I try a more natural product which has actually worked better than the beta-blockers absent the side effects. He has honored my healthcare decisions, supporting my plant-centered diet and lifestyle as well as my continued relationship with so-called "alternative practictioners." I recommend him without reservation.

I'm looking forward to turning this into five stars. I was referred to Dr. Maiden 4 months ago. I was told the office would call me to set up an appointment. It never happened. I have tried calling once a week for 4 months and have not been able to get through. I have left a message as indicated in the system once every week, it says people will be called the next business day. I have not been called. My referring doctor spoke directly to Dr. Maiden and she said that he said he would have someone call me the next day. That was 3 weeks ago. I would very much like to get scheduled for an appointment and maybe posting here will get me a call back?

My dad was having some very slight shortness of breath and some really atypical symptoms of what turned out to be something like 9 blockages in his coronary arteries. Because he's so extremely thin, healthy and active (despite being 70 yrs old), several cardiologist just dismissed his symptoms and wouldn't investigate deeper; that is, except for Dr. Maidan. Dr. Maidan really pushed the issue with my dad to get more diagnostics and it turned out he needed a quad bypass. My dad was on borrowed time without knowing it, and Dr. Maidan literally saved his life. The cardiac surgeon he referred my dad to (Dr. Nelson at Overlake) was amazing too. Thanks to Dr. Maidan, my dad is alive and better than ever. My family is eternally grateful for Dr. Maidan's intelligence, diligence and concern for his patients.
