About Dr. Providence Mill Creek Anticoagulation Clinic
The Anticoagulation Clinic provides convenient care for patients taking warfarin (Coumadin(r)) and other anticoagulants. The clinic is staffed by Pharmacists and Registered Nurses who work closely with your family doctor to monitor your therapy. Anticoagulants are medications that control the blood's ability to clot and are prescribed to prevent or treat a harmful blood clot. Careful monitoring is needed to prevent bleeding or clotting complications. During your visit, a specially-trained Pharmacist or Registered Nurse will test your blood with a finger stick. You will then be informed of the results of the test, your warfarin dose will be adjusted if necessary, and a follow-up appointment will be set for you.
