I wish I could rate 0 stars. This is a long one, so buckle up. I brought my fiance in to see Dr. Wells after receiving a referral from his PCP due to tachycardia, heart pains, chest pains, shortness of breath, and palpitations. His EKG showed ST depressions, abnormal P waves and tachycardia. A holter monitor was ordered and came back showing a min heart rate of 34 (bradycardia) and a max of 185 (tachycardia) It also showed that Palpitations, Couplets, and Triplets were present. Although there were no significant abnormalities there were still abnormalities present. We came back in for a follow up after the monitor and these issues were blamed on anxiety. We went back to his PCP 6 months later for a follow up because he was still symptomatic. We brought up POTS being a concern due to lightheadedness, fatigue, headaches, near syncope, brain fog, shakiness, and heat intolerance (along with the symptoms listed prior). His PCP stated to return to cardiology for POTS testing. For anyone that doesn't know, POTS is also a symptom in itself of an underlying condition. Dr. Wells walked in the room and slammed his paper down. He asked what symptoms my fiance was having and we listed a few before he cut us off. He was very short and dismissive. He stated "You could have POTS but I am reluctant to test you for it" We brought up his constant tachycardia and he asked how we even know what his heart rate is. We explained that we have a pulse ox at home given to us by the ER at a previous visit for concern of heart attack due to these exact symptoms. He dismissed us and stated "You are 22 years old do you want to be on beta blockers for the rest of your life? No? Didn't think so." Then proceeded to say there is no reason he should've been sent to a cardiologist and asked if we had anything else to say. Feeling defeated, we said no and immediately called his PCP to switch his referral to Inova. Just because a patient is 22 years old and it's typically not normal for someone at that age to have heart issues does NOT mean it can't happen. There's absolutely no reason a "Doctor" should be that rude and dismissive. I strongly advise you to take your loved one's care elsewhere.

To be clear. The front office was disorganized and, just crap. The nurse, was great, I hope she finds a better office for her career. The doctor.. absolutely gross. The barely 20 year old who waited months for her appt, on her own as a new adult with her life long diagnosis looking for someone to follow her care as an adult, was just gross. She dismissed everything. I dont know if the doctor was just having a bad day, or this was her regular. However, reading all of her reviews across several sites, it just seems to be the doctor's regular behavior. She is very unskilled and unknowingly about autonomic cardiology. The new young mom who came to her appointment as barely an adult looking for direction was dismissed and not listened to. Shame shame shame on you lady. Doctor degree or not, you were an awful human being. Even noting in her chart she couldn't recall things from her pediatric appointments with her parents from years ago, but still having records of absolute diagnosis already in place. Shaming a new young mom with her newborn there with her. Gross. If anyone else can read this with out the office intercepting, just travel a bit farther to DC for doctors with real experience in autonomic cardiology experience and just overall human interaction experience and not the tiny mountain town appointments, this doctor lady is trash. Just cause people go thru med school, does not mean they should be in charge of your medical care.

Dr. Peri-Okonny was wonderful! Took the time to listen to our concerns. He explained everything and went over all options for treatment as well as recommending a course of action. He answered all our questions, and put us at ease. We never felt rushed by anyone in a clearly very busy office. We would highly recommend!!

Had a positive tilt table test in May showing that I have pots syndrome, made a follow up appt with Dr Wells. He told me that although my tilt table test was positive I do not have pots. Other people have it worse than me and since I don't have a heart condition he "doesn't know why I was referred to him." He tried to blame all of my symptoms on a medication I started in January until I told him that I've had symptoms since I was a child. Then he tried to blame all of my symptoms on my thyroid saying that I needed to see an endocrinologist. I even told him I see one once a year and all of my levels are normal and my thyroid is stable. He said there was "nothing he could do for me" and he was sorry that he didn't have any answers. He also said that I'm a healthy young woman and shouldn't have been sent to him. If I were healthy I wouldn't be going to a cardiologist at 26 years old. I would highly recommend seeing any other doctor before speaking with Dr Wells. He was very dismissive, took 30 minutes to come to the room and even then he barely made eye contact with me and barely even spoke to me. Terrible experience.

Dr. Choudary was just awful. Dismissive from the start and after explaining my worries and being ignored he not only rolled his eyes at me but told me that it was probably anxiety (it's not) because I was explaining my frustration at not getting proper care previously. Every question I asked was met with the same rolled eyes and exaggerated sighs like I was just taking up his precious time. I luckily had my boyfriend with me to be a witness to his utter disdain or I'm sure it would not have been believed. I then spoke to the office manager at the end of the appt and when I asked to switch providers they told me that they typically do not do that and I may have to find another doctor's office to go to. A week later someone calls and gets me in to see another provider but this whole thing was just ridiculous. If you have no bedside manner then why be a doctor?!?!? If you meet all questions with disdain how do you have any patients to begin with?!?!? I was not rude at all but I have a right to ask questions about why they make the decisions that they do or why something is/ is not being looked at. I'm hoping this next doctor they get me with has an iota of respect for their patients. I wouldn't recommend Dr. Choudary at all.
