I felt like the doctor was very dismissive. I had a catheter ablation done for AFIB at age 26. My primary care put a heart monitor to catch palpitations as I was having similar symptoms. Some things came back that raised concerns so she referred me to this office. He stated nothing was wrong with the results and he didn't believe I was in AFIB again. I asked why my primary was concerned and why I had a few out of whack heart rates and he said it can happen. That I understand, however, i had a few concerning heart rate spikes. He kept telling me that I'm young and healthy. I didn't like that response as I've already had an ablation and AFIB at age 26. He scheduled a stress test, ultra sound and a few other tests. I felt this was just about money due to the fact that he thought I wasn't in AFIB and assured me everything was normal. I felt rushed and unheard. I canceled all future appointments and did not return for any tests as they seemed unnecessary.
I saw Dr.Ward back in September. I was there for my symptoms related to POTS and have since this visit been diagnosed with hEDS and POTS in Charlottesville. She told me POTS is "overdiagnosed" ( it's not ) and did not seem to want to take me seriously at all when I told her my concerns. I did a heart monitor and it confirmed spikes in my heart rate, however she still would not consider POTS as being the reason. I'm upset I had to see another doctor elsewhere to get the diagnosis and be taken seriously.
DISCOURTEOUS CONS: :While roomed, we were told "he comes across as rude & may seem to yell at you but I heard is a good dr. Don't pay attention to how he says things, just what he says".Boy was she right ! Felt bad for that nurse PROS:pretty office (paid for by physician & decorated by his wife NOT Riverside as told by medical assistant) MORAL OF THE STORY: research your options for yourselves & loved ones-don't settle for convenience. There are other offices & healthcare organizations. Call your insurance company, get a patient advocate & most important: know your right to good healthcare
I have never met doctors who are so disconnected to their patients as this Riverside Cardiologist Office in Williamsburg. They don't care about you & make it very obvious by not returning calls & lack of care. You're better off going to a Veterinarian for care or just check medical advise online & take care of yourself. I would not give them any stars!!!
