Dr. Sciortino is an amazingly funny surgeon. His bedside manner is phenomenal. I was comfortable the first time we met him. My husband needed bypass surgery. Dr. Sciortino went in and fixed everything he could in one swipe. He definitely deserves The Best Surgeon of the Month award that Sentara has given him this month. So grateful to God that Dr. Sciortino was the surgeon on duty when my husband needed this critical procedure done.

In February 2022, an angiogram revealed three blocked arteries including 90 percent blockage of the Left Anterior Descending (LAD) artery -- thwarting a likely widowmaker heart attack. I thank God that He blessed me with Dr. Christopher Sciortino, who specialized in coronary artery bypass surgery for many years prior to being assigned to me. On March 29, 2022, when he performed the procedure, he found a fourth blocked artery and completed successful quadruple bypass/open heart surgery. Dr. Sciortino is a Godsend. His spontaneous humor, charismatic personality, excellent communication skills, and genuine care exhibits how much he really loves his patients. And I don't even have to boast about his outstanding surgical abilities, but I will, because I'm living proof. From September 6, 2022 up to September 7, 2023, I've walked over 10,000 steps a day for 366 consecutive days. I've been doing circuit training every other day, since I graduated from the 36-session cardiac rehab (in August 2022). My wife and I love Dr. Sciortino and his staff--primarily Sharon Cone and Sylvia Armistead were very caring, very knowledgeable, very thorough, and very competent. I am so in love with this team--and will always be grateful to them. Sharon Cone and Sylvia Armistead I love Dr. Sciortino--and I thank him for saving my life.

I can't thank Dr. Sciortino and his team enough for the successful surgeries and continuous care they performed on my dad! Dr. Sciortino has excellent bedside manner and his compassion for his job shines through. My family and I are so blessed by his life and will forever be thankful for his work. Highly recommend.

In late June 2019, at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Dr. Sciortino performed quadruple cardiac bypass surgery in a 7-hour operation to relieve life-threatening blockages in my coronary arteries. I was able to return to teaching eight weeks later, and I have been fine ever since. I was 78-years-old at the time of surgery and I do not take for granted that such surgery always is so successful. I am deeply appreciative of Dr. Sciortino for giving me back my life.
