Centra Heart and Vascular Institute - Lynchburg (Stroobants Cardiovascular)

This was my first visit and I am impressed. I was checked in immediately by a very pleasant woman named Brittney. Within minutes a nurse tech took me to a room. She was also very pleasant, efficient and caring. Her name is Kendree Moore. Dr. Veith came in shortly....She has only been there a few months and they are fortunate to have her. As a retired cardiac RN I was impressed with her knowledge and our discussion on the way my problems can be treated.

I find Dr. Morford a caring and thorough medical professional. His nurses Chrystal and Amber RN are both professional and compassionate. The lab tech was great. Emma the greeter was polite and helpful. Konda was also professional and compassionate. Maddie the check out could use some tips on being a little more personable.

Had an appointment scheduled with Lori at 330, I called Centra as I was in route to there location to ask if i was 5 min late would i still be seen and i was advised that there was a 10 min late policy. Great! Looked at my GPS and it said that i would arrive at 338. So When I arrived there was a guest in front of me being registered after that guess I was registered in and was waiting to be called. At 4pm the front desk personal said that the doctor Lori refused to see me because I was late. I let them know that i was not late. They then responded that my registration paper work was time stamped for 342 (2 min after the late policy) I let them know that i was here and someone was in front of me upon arrival and that I was traveling all the way from wyndhurst area. I also let them know that I called prior to make sure i would still be seen if i arrived within the 10 min grace. Long story short Doc Lori still refused to see me. Just to add I asked was i her last patient and was told that she had 1 patient after me. Not only did i waste time and gas to come here but i also feel that i was not handled in a professional manner. The doc lacked both empathy and care for my situations. I mean this is suppose to be a heart health center 2min could be the line between life and death. Appointments are already stretched out because they don't have enough staff for the patient load . I waited 4m for this appointment! All Im saying is DO BETTER! Employ doctors that know how to adjust to life circumstances. Doctors that make decisions that are fair and reasonable. This is literally disappointing and gross.

All the staff we encountered for my mom's appointment was knowledgeable and helpful. They all worked to get my mom evaluated. Dr. Hubbard had a amazing bedside manor and called us back to discuss my mother's questions and concerns.

I've struggled for years with cardiovascular issues and I have always been well cared for by the doctors, nurses, physician assistants, technicians and other staff. They have attended me in the emergency room, hospital stays, and office visits. Lynchburg is fortunate to have such a good facility staffed with wonderful professionals.
