Dr. Carothers was great. We came in to check on a heart mumor my 3 year old had. He explained everything each step, took time to answer questions, and put our mind at ease. His staff was very sweet and great with my daughter.
About Dr. Brent H. Carothers, MD
Dr Carothers is board certified in Pediatrics and Pediatric Cardiology. After earning his medical degree from University of Virginia School of Medicine, he received additional training through a residency in Pediatrics at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a fellowship in Pediatric Cardiology at Duke University. He loves caring for the Lynchburg community because using his talents and training to keep children healthy and happy is a true labor of love. When he is not providing care at the Heart and Vascular Institute, he likes to spend his time reading, playing golf, watching suspenseful movies, and helping his three daughters become successful student-athletes.

Dr. Carothers has followed and cared for both my children until they were both 18. He has been amazing in every way. He always spent plenty of time with us, was very thorough, explained all our options, gave recommendations without being pushy, was accessible and responsive even outside of our visits, and was in general one of the best doctors I have ever interacted with. We are very grateful to him and can not recommend him high enough. Sad we have to move on to another doctor because of the kids' ages. 10 stars at least.

What a GREAT doctor! Great bed side manner! He explains things very thoroughly and so you can understand. Twice I took my daughter to him with a handful of questions and he answers my questions before I can even ask them. Never felt rushed. He sits and chats with you about your child's issue like a doctor should and he listens to you. What a wonderful caring doctor! I highly recommend him. I wish all doctors were like him!
