Extremely rude nurses in the ob/gyno office, suite 230, referring to one specific nurse who lacks manners, especially during intimate moments including my pap smear. This nurse made a face when I was getting a pap smear done which I'm not sure what that was about, either being irritated that I couldn't remember information I thought was relevant to my visit or whatever reaction she had when my legs were spread, I'm sure she wasn't expecting me to see the last few seconds of whatever offensive hand and face gesture she was making in the background to my nurse practitioner performing the pap. Between the 2 extra unnecessary 40 minute trips I made to the location due to the office NOT explaining to me what they could and could not provide at their office and being continually met with I assume this nurses "regular attitude" I really just cant look past this last appointment where once again I was lead to believe one thing was happening when another thing happened and looking between my legs and seeing a body language motion I did not appreciate. I will be looking for another ob office and nurse practitioner as well as birthing doctor. I'm not sure what that was about but I am extremely dissatisfied with my results from here. I suggest if you want regular fetal check ups, fetal heartbeat checks, or to even see your unborn child don't go here. I understand you don't get to see your child every time you go but Ive been 3 times and had to fight for just 1 ultrasound. I also don't understand how I was told they don't do ultrasounds but expect to see me monthly about my baby and not once do an ultrasound. Maybe it is my misunderstanding being a first time mother and having no guidance (even from this location) but I also do not believe in paying 2 doctors or more for check ups and ultrasound appointments when I think I can find a doctor that can focus more on my unborn child rather than just taking my money and making me feel exposed and funny about myself.

As a healthcare worker who's worked for valley health and other establishments I am appalled by valley health's gynecologist Virginia Baker on commerce ave. I had my first gynecology appointment since having a miscarriage and for the first time I was completely shocked at how much this doctor talked over me, and made me feel unheard. I am such a laid back person, and today after leaving I felt broken. I have never sat in front of a doctor who just talked over the patient the way she did to me. And if she would have let me talk, every "recommendation" she made I was trying to tell her I've already done. I also told her my previous doctor who I worked with recommended I get tested for PCOS due to other members of my family having it and she looked at me like I was crazy and the doctor who wanted it done. She also called me overweight not once, but in several other ways and if she had let me talk she would know I've done absolutely everything I can to lose weight and the struggles I've had with it. She was very rude and lacked bedside manners. During my Pap smear not one time did she ask if I felt any discomfort at all, I've worked beside many doctors giving Pap smears and have always k ow doctors to check on their patients during an exam as such. When trying to explain to her my symptoms I've had for some time she immediately told me "that's normal". She also told me that "this wasn't the appointment" to go into detail further of my symptoms.I don't know everything but I'm very smart when it comes to keeping up to date with everything changing in the medical field and things inside my scope of practice. Today I was talked to like a dummy. Do yourself a favor and stay away from Virginia Baker.

I had an appointment today with nurse practitioner Mary Turner. It was my first appointment at this practice and I am always extra nervous for this type of appointment. To make things worse, I wrote the appointment time wrong and arrived late and felt terrible. I figured I may have to reschedule since I didn't arrive on time and I was a new patient. Jeanine, the medical receptionist, spoke to the nurse right away to make every effort to fit me in. They didn't make me feel rushed, they took care of me right away, and were very friendly and helpful. Jo, the nurse, took her time getting my medical information and going over my history and again never made me feel rushed. She was so kind, reassuring, and explained everything to me- took my nervousness away. I thought I may have a long wait time since they squeezed me in after my appointment time but the nurse practitioner, Mary Turner, came in right away. I get so nervous with exams and she was so kind and made me feel comfortable. She took her time to discuss medication with me, and to find the option best suited for my needs. She explained that my test results will go straight to my portal so I won't even have to wait for a call. Check out was equally easy, with Janine actually knowing more about my insurance plan than I do, and explaining to me that I don't have a copay for this visit. Everyone in this medical practice works with each other to make you feel comfortable and to take great care of their patients. Lately, it feels like it is not so easy to find a place to get care where you don't feel like just a number. I will absolutely recommend them and I am thankful to have found such a caring provider (and her team!)

Dr. Mike is awesome! He is very patient with us and answers all of our questions thoroughly. He always provides us with his full attention during appointments and never makes us feel rushed, though I'm sure he is quite busy. This is my first pregnancy, and we always feel at ease when leaving the office. The turnaround time for test results is also quite impressive. We never have to wait long for any answers. I would definitely recommend Dr. Mike and Valley Health for any parents-to-be!

After my appointment, I tried accessing the online "my chart" to obtain test results and the results weren't clear. They were given in a medical context that left me confused. When I reached out to get help with the results of my appointment, I was told I had to make an appointment to discuss test results. They wouldn't talk on the phone. So I made an appointment for tests, then needed another appointment for test results. Shouldn't that all be in one trip. Now I have to pay another copay, take another day off work, just to get results from an appointment. Ridiculous. You need people who can call patients and discuss results and treatment plans without inconveniencing the patient with multiple appointments for one test result. My time is important too.
