Mary Washington Gastroenterology

Very friendly. I saw the PA and she seemed very knowledgeable. They scheduled some tests to be done. I'm very happy with a good experience.

I absolutely shudder at the idea of calling into this office because of their staff and horrible scheduler. The physicians are NOT the problem, in fact, I have received great care under Dr. Dasai. I cannot get any appointments until the next year because there is no availability! It is VIRTUALLY impossible to get anything done within a reasonable time. God forbid you have an ailment or affliction bothering you! By the time they get you in the symptoms have either worsened or evolved into something else. MWH do better. This is why people have moved from MWH to other efficient and effective places such as FFX INOVA (which I am heavily contemplating). You owe it to your patients and the community. Lastly, MWH needs to hire folks that want to be there. You're in a business of helping people! You cannot have indifferent or apathetic staff when talking to people! We are not DOBs or numbers or a case file. We are living people with issues that need to be caught, resolved and helped. Learn some manners or take a class in empathy. Seriously, your staff stinks!

Good doctors, but their scheduling office needs a much needed overhaul. When you call, you'll receive a recording that repeats itself and does not indicate how long your wait will be. If you have to leave a message, you'll rarely receive a call back. I listened to the recording for 18 minutes before reaching the scheduler. Other times I have waited 30+ minutes. Additionally, the merger has been a disaster with lack of communication at the forefront. Executive staff at Mary Washington needs to evaluate the scheduling office and make much needed changes to ensure quality care from start to finish.

This place used to be a great practice .. that is why I chose to bring both of my parents here as patients. But ever since Mary Washington took over.. this place has become a total mad house. You can not speak to anyone in the office because you can NEVER reach anyone. You're on hold for hours just to book an appointment. To book a procedure? It took them 3 months to book my parents colonoscopy and endoscopy. Let me rephrase that better, 3 months for them to just finally be able to call me and SCHEDULE them for the appointment. That doesn't include how far out after that they schedule them. I am also going to report this to board of medicine.. because my mother was seen in the office in the beginning of the year for RUQ abdominal pain. The provider saw her twice and never gave an order for US or any imaging for that region of pain. The PA's advice was to do a endoscopy first and then if all is clear, then she will give an order for US for her pain. Now that I'm trying to call the office, they are saying they can't do that and she needs to be seen... which is fine... but the first available appointment is not until 2 months from now. And even at that, they can't schedule her 2 months from now because the schedule is not "open" yet. MY MOTHER IS IN PAIN. Her pain has also gotten WORSE after the endoscopy. And we all know that's not okay to feel that much new pain after ANY procedure. I tried speaking to the front desk, I believe her name was Mariah. I tried to explain the situation to her and she just dismissed it. So because of the providers negligence and poor planning of care .. my mother has to sit in pain for 6 months now in total ... because this office failed to treat her correctly. And before anyone thinks that I should just take her to the ER.. I work in Emergency Medicine .. we all know that the ER at the end says to go see your gastroenterologist. The gastroenterologist that neglected my mother for 6 months now. I am truly disappointed in what this practice turned into. It used to be amazing. Now it's just pure disappointment. I will file my official report to board of medicine this month because this is not right. Something needs to change.

I called to speak to someone about a missed call I got from them. After listening to the same recording for 15 minutes they finally pick up but not with the name of the business or there name you are greeted with "hello". I have to ask each time if this is the dr office and there response is yeah. Very unprofessional to be affiliated with Mary Washington hospital.They need lessons on the right way to answer a phone if they work for a buisness.
