Inova Schar Heart and Vascular

I do not think there will ever be enough words to express my gratitude for the exceptional care the Inova Schar Heart and Vascular Institute provided for my dad, not just once, but twice. Every single person we encountered, from nutrition services to the nurses, techs, physicians, and support staff, treated him with compassion, patience, and professionalism. Knowing he was in such attentive hands brought us so much comfort. To everyone who played a role in his care: thank you. Your kindness and expertise made all the difference, and we are forever grateful.

A dear friend of mine passed away in this hospital. I will always remember him for the rest of my life. Everyone was very professional throughout the entire process. I'm glad to know he went away in good hands and under good service. They also allowed us to say our goodbyes. I'm grateful for those who work here.

My father went into cardiac arrest at work on Saturday February 23, 2019 and was rushed by medics to Mt. Vernon hospital via ambulance. He was then transferred to Fairfax Hospital where they immediately performed a heart cath and determined no blockages. He was placed on a ventilator and put into a medically induced coma. This is where the team began their life saving efforts for my father. Over the course of the next 48 hours they cooled his body temperature to help him recover and slowly warmed him back up to wake up from sedation. We were informed that brain damage was a great possibility and a lot of unknowns heading into him waking back up, if at all. My father woke up 12 hours into the warming process and very little brain function loss, if any at all! Today my father is walking around the wing and alive and well. I would like to thank the team at Fairfax for ALL of their efforts to make sure my father is alive and will go home to live the life we still have left to live with him. Special shout out to Davis, his nurse who truly exemplifies what bedside manner should be. He was so courteous and informative while he was on his shifts. We cannot thank David enough! Thank you all from the bottom of my heart as I can now take my father to the Pirates game in Pittsburgh this summer that we have always talked about with his childhood friends for a reunion. Fairfax Inova Heart and Vascular is the BEST!!!!!

I was referred there by my primary care provider, to get my blood work done, because my veins are hard to find, the lab tech at the lab on Saturday 11/16 were unable to find my veins, I was Stucked 4 different times without success, with that the lab Technicians made me feel like it was my fault that I'm a hard stick , I know I have veins, they are there, so why is it that anyone cannot find it? I was sent away to go somewhere else, I came out crying. I was of the impression that this place was competent enough to deal with my type of vein, truly dissatisfied and disappointed

My husband had his heart transplant on July 10 2023. Can't express the great care here at INOVA! The heart transplant team are top notch! We can't thank the team of Dr.s and nurses.enough! His care was absolutely phenomenal! Thank you so much. We love this place
