About Dr. Robert E. Shapiro, MD
Dr Robert Shapiro is a specialty care physician board certified in cardiology, nuclear cardiology and echocardiography at Inova Health System. He joined Inova with 12 years of experience as a clinical cardiologist in Pennsylvania, where he also served as the medical director of a large echocardiography laboratory. His special interests include imaging of the heart. His clinical interests include management of valvular heart disease, coronary artery disease, congestive heart failure and arrhythmias. Dr Shapiro became interested in cardiology as an undergraduate student at Pennsylvania State University, where he received an Honors Degree in Biology. He specifically enjoyed studying and understanding the physiology of the heart.

Horrible experience with Dr. Shapirro. The staff was great. Our appointment was at 3 pm and we were checked in and in the examroom by 3:10. However Dr shappiro did not bother to come for almost 45 minutes. As i was getting my mother back into her wheel chair so we could leave and re-schedule thats when he showed up with a minimal apology. His bed side manner was very dry. Very disappointed.
