Dr. Qiong Zhao is the Regional Medical Director of Cardiac Diagnostics and Director of Research, Cardiac Diagnostics at Inova Schar Heart and Vascular. Board certified in cardiovascular disease, Dr. Zhao's clinical areas of interest include structural heart disease, heart failure, pulmonary vascular disease, women's heart disease and cardio-oncology.
She has a special interest and expertise in 3D echocardiography and strain imaging, structural heart diseases, pulmonary hypertension and cardio-oncology. She is the principal investigator of echocardiography clinical trials and a sub-investigator in multiple other clinical. Her basic/translational research is in the field of pressure overload-induced cardiac hypertrophy and heart failure.
