Dr Jared Spitz is a specialty physician board certified in cardiovascular disease at Inova Health System. Prior to joining Inova, Dr Spitz was a clinical fellow in cardiovascular disease at New York-Presbyterian Hospital ' Weill Cornell Medical Center in New York, NY. During his fellowship, Dr Spitz has developed skills in general cardiology with a particular focus in prevention and multimodality imaging. He has also researched the role of imaging in structural cardiology and the role of clinical genetic testing in coronary artery disease. Dr Spitz seeks to provide all patients with comprehensive cardiac care that includes prevention, general cardiology and critical care in the outpatient and hospital settings.

Dr. Spitz is both highly professional and deeply passionate about his patients. He always reviews test results and answers questions promptly -- even on weekends. Under his care, my son's cholesterol has been well controlled. He also takes the initiative to reach out to other specialists involved in my son's care to help coordinate a comprehensive treatment plan. We feel very fortunate to have Dr. Spitz as my son's cardiologist.
**WARNING** You may receive bills that are not for the faint of heart! At my initial consultation with Dr. Spitz, he ordered a Vital Connect heart monitor, which was subsequently denied by my insurance because it is considered out of network. When I contacted Vital Connect directly, they informed me that they are not in network with ANY insurance and it's the responsibility of the ordering provider to disclose this and obtain patient consent - which was not done in my case. I saw an IN-NETWORK doctor at an IN-NETWORK facility and had NO knowledge that an out-of-network 3rd-party vendor would be used. Had I been informed that it would result in a $950 charge that would not even apply toward my deductible or out-of-pocket maximum--I absolutely would have refused the monitor. It should be noted that this was only one of THREE claims for my 20 minute initial consultation!
Dr. Spitz was excellent, was very thorough in analyzing my problem, he had already studied my case history. He patiently listened to my concerns and offered a detailed explanation of my condition and treatment options. We agreed upon the next course of action. I was very satisfied with my interaction with Dr. Spitz. I would strongly recommend him if you are looking for an excellent cardiologist.
Dr Jared is such a caring Dr who truly goes above and beyond to take care of his patients. We arrived 15 min late to my 2:30 pm EST and Dr refused to see my 82 year old dad. Perhaps he has enough flow of the patients. If you are looking for a reliable Dr plz dont waste your time with him and look somewhere else. Dr Jared is an example of individual who should not be a Dr. Sad and pathetic.
