M Rafiq Zaheer, MD

He correctly identified a bad heart valve, then tracked it until we were ready for an operation. Valve repair went exactly as expected. I did the rehab diligently and I exercise daily. Now I'm as good as new. He's a great Dr and you need to be a great patient:)

All the other reviews about the staff are surprisingly still correct, eight years later. Unprofessional and unhelpful. I'm not sure who answers the phone, maybe she just had a lot on her plate at the time, but the response I recieved for a simple request has lead me to believe that this office does not care, advocate, or vouch for its patients in need.

I don't have the problem with the Doctor. I heard a lot of good stuff about him that's why we brought my dad there. Doctor Zaheer is great and Doctor Sireq is a sweet heart. His staff is unbelievable especially the manager there. She is extremely rude. No compassion nothing, how could you be in this field where sick people come to you and you have no sensitivity towards them. She knows that Doctor gave my father note that he is suppose to see him in a weak. We made appointment and she canceled our appointment that he needs to go to emergency patient. I understand that but then she put me 2 weeks after and she was suppose to fit him in either the same week or next week, but she was telling me that I should be happy I'm getting in after two weeks because people wait 2 months for him. I told her he is a heart patient, recently discharged and has to see the doctor soon she said "you're more than welcome to take him to emergency" like seriously? I can go on and on, but he really needs to change his manager. Doctor Zaheer is saving people's life and his staff especially the manager doesn't suit him. I recommend doctor Zaheer but not the manager and staff.

The office staff in the Arlington location are extremely unprofessional and not helpful. Specifically someone identified as "Erin". After a month long back and forth regarding a release form that was sent with confirmation, I asked for email address to send a release form only to be told that they do not use email. I asked for an alternate resolution only to be told there was none until finally Erin said it could be mailed into the office. I asked to speak with a manager only to be told the manager was not in the office. I asked for the manager's name and was only told Yosey. They would not release the last name. I was then put on hold and another person picks up the call and was just as unhelpful and was told they would take my number and see if the manager would return my call. I would advice steering clear of this location until they hire competent staff.

Dr. Zaheer is an excellent cardiologist who took care of my mother. He also visited her many times when she was in the hospital. He is one of the most caring and thorough doctors my mom ever had. His demeanor is one of extreme compassion and understanding. He takes time to listen to you and is a partner with his patients. We can't thank him enough and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a caring and knowledgeable cardiologist who will take the time to explain your diagnosis and provide you with options.
