VHC Health - Primary Care Old Town

I had a mixed experience here. Initially things were ok. They had a clean, modern office and did an acceptable job for standard medical issues. I saw Trent Hope MD until we disagreed then Christopher Ryan MD. Both doctors were knowledgeable in general medicine but I ran into a rare problem where they refused to take my concerns seriously and pushed me off to psychiatry. I disagreed with their reasoning and asserted my right to refuse treatment but then Dr. Ryan had me banned from all VHC facilities claiming that I was noncompliant and disrespectful towards him for trumped-up reasons. Ryan also didn't do anything to warn me about a drug he prescribed that had a known side effect and resulted in a large weight gain, leaving me obese. I also noticed that they have a conflict of interest and like to refer to VHC facilities which makes them more money. Because I get charity care at Inova I prefer not to use their facilities where there is no charity care. VHC treated me poorly and I am relieved that Inova treats me better. I won't go back.

I am very happy to have found this place and visited, they are now my primary doctor's office. The front desk staff and lab staff are always super kind and efficient. NP Lauren Burford is absolutely wonderful, professional, and truly cares about my health. I have never had a better experience at any other Doctor so I highly recommend this location an NP Burford.

Best pap ever! I had my annual well woman exam and from the start I was treated warmly. Melissa the Medical Assistant is MARVELOUS. Shout out to Nidhi Reva, PA-C, MPH. We shared a connection immediately and I knew I was in wonderful hands. I was super impressed that I didn't have to go anywhere for blood tests. Melissa came in and deftly got the samples. They both were warm, friendly, and professional. I'm leaving the area but may need to return next year. Highly recommend. It was my best experience ever with a medical team. Both are top-notch.

I never had bad this location till now. What happened? Very das. Staffs at front desk are very rude, talked down to me like I was no body. I just simply told them what my insurance situation, one staff didn't understand and asked other worst one and she start told me so loud and talked down to me like I'm scolded by her for the question. If my primary Dr. wasn't at this location, I will never go back to this place. How terribly treating part this location? What a sad. I will be contacting manager but maybe was it my time. No recommend.

I've had only pleasant experiences at VHC in Old Town. The receptionists have always been very kind and helpful on the phone and in person when I check in or need to reschedule, and my PCP is thorough during my annual checkup and is great about listening to all of my concerns and helping me.
