Patient
The ER is unclean. I was there last night and all you can smell is urine in the waiting area. Not to mention GABRIEL, the security guard, needs some serious training on how to act professionally at his job. I had to ask him (me the general public, not his supervisor) to please stop singing and do his job quicker, as my partner was experinecing a medical emergency and we didn't have time to stand there listening to his concert in the middle of the ER. The security seemingly has no training when it comes to treating those experiencing medical emergencies (hence being in the ER) with a shred of empathy, his behavior was completely inappropriate for a hospital setting. I also watched Gabriel not check others the way he thoroughly made me empty my pockets, take my jacket off (even though there's a metal detector lol), and tried to "hold" my $300 winter jacket. He profiled me but let plenty others just stroll through the metal detector no problem, no harassment about removing their coats or anything. His supervisor came over and told me I could hold on to my jacket, it was definitely giving the impression that the original security guard (GABRIEL) needed a new winter jacket with how he was acting. Pathetic. Maybe pay your workers more so they can afford their own belongings and don't try to steal from people already experiencing enough going on. This is a pathetic excuse of a hospital. It makes me embarrassed to even be a UVM alum. DO BETTER!!! You owe it to your community.
