Patient
Dr. Steven Fiser, a heart surgeon at St. Mary's Hospital in Richmond killed my father, Bruce Leigh Fowler, by experimenting on his mitral valve four times after a successful triple bypass, keeping him on the heart-lung bypass machine for about ten hours during two surgeries over two days, rather than implanting a pig valve, which at that time had a 30-year initial success rate of 98%. A pig valve sat in a cooler near the operating table the entire time. He lied about what he did to my father in the official hospital record, and another doctor and the hospital have assisted that doctor in covering this up. The Virginia Board of Medicine is investigating this right now. I've since talked with two people who had heart surgery at St. Mary's and had horrible experiences. Please make sure none of your friends or family members go there for anything heart-related.
