Patient Reviews

SURPRISED! I've had over 120 surgeries in my life so I feel somewhat qualified in leaving this review. I recently underwent an outpatient surgery at Alta View Hospital. I was concerned about the facility being small and potentially there being a lack of services involving my care. It would understatement to indicate the medical attention and care I received was excellent. The entire surgical team from start to finish were kind and patient. My high standards in having surgeries was the norm. I was incredibly impressed with everyone. A special thanks to post-op RN: Alyssa Gibson. The experience was 5 Star!

I cannot express the warmth and care I receive at this hospital. The staff is outstanding. Every person I interacted with were kind, supportive and great at their jobs. I had an emergency surgery and was so scared but they had me the whole way. Thanks you isn't enough.

My hospital experience was good and Dr. Fisher is amazing. I was in and out quickly for my surgery. The issue is that my insurance has not been properly billed which is leaving a massive bill for me to manage since last December. I have called billing support numerous times, who told me it's not their issue and to call credentialing to update in network providers so I can be billed appropriately. I have left messages at credentialing with no return call and am extremely frustrated. Luckily I work in healthcare so I know what is correct, but I feel bad for patients that do not know any better and put themselves in financial jeopardy. A simple follow up could correct my bill and reimburse me what I have overpaid.

I will never be going to this hospital again if I can help it. I've been here four days thus far and have not received the care I require, in addition to encountering several incompetent employees. Not all of them were, there have been a few exceptional people here.... Lance is amazing! Clarissa is incredible! Amanda is caring and a few other techs were good. The male doctors I encountered here are the most egregious at not listening to anything the patient says... about their own body! The female doctors have listened. Overall the hospital is more concerned about their procedures being followed more than actual patient care. I lay on the hospital bed freezing and shivering and it's more important for them to type up whatever they're charting than actual patient care. This instance I waited ten minutes for a hot blanket while he entered data right next to me... as I lay visibly shivering with no blankets on me at all (my condition at the time prevented me from covering myself). I will name one employee who was dismissive of anything I told her, bossy, condescending and outright bitchy, this was Brynn (nurse). Several more examples, especially with Brynn. So if you do come to this hospital, be prepared to advocate for yourself or have someone with you that can. I'm not coming here again. UPDATE: The day I left here the AMAZING team at Transformative Medicine in Sandy UT with Dr. Hersh got me in for treatment that improved my condition IMMEDIATELY. I still have a bit to go but the difference in care and health outcome is profoundly night and day different than the "care" and treatment I received at Alta. Intermountain Hell is more like it.

I wouldn't send anyone here. The younger kids working the late shift are the biggest issue, and it becomes a real problem once you're out of surgery. You can hit the call button and it feels like they just ignore it. I had a soaked bandage and asked one of the younger nurses for help, and she literally said, "I'm just here to help Wendy with what she asked for," as if basic patient care wasn't part of her job. When post-op patients can't get simple help, it stops being an inconvenience and becomes a safety issue. The difference between the actual adults on staff and the younger night-shift kids is huge. Hannah was professional and actually took her job seriously. Same with Wendy until she got too busy. Ava acted like she didn't want to be here at all. The maturity gap is obvious, and it makes recovery harder than it needs to be. If management reads these reviews, the late-night staffing needs a serious look. Patients shouldn't have to rely on kids who ignore call lights and act like patient care is optional. This stay was dragged down by that, and it shouldn't happen to anyone else. If you don't want your nurse tech to walk in on call light with a sucker dangling out of her mouth like a child I suggest another hospital.
