I can't say enough good things about Doctor Ware. He has gone above and beyond for my daughter. The most people I'm most grateful for is her surgeon, he literally saved her life and is still here today! Have I had bad moment with the doctors? Yes! I'm still thankful for the great care my daughter received. You can totally see the difference in my kid of the before and after.

Unfortunately, if your child has hyperlipidemia, Dr. Ware is the only pediatric cardiologist in Utah who "treats" this condition. After our pediatrician identified my child's elevated lipid levels, I immediately took action, scheduling an appointment with a pediatric dietitian and implementing a stricter, healthier diet. We already maintained a clean diet due to my husband's celiac disease--no soda, no junk food, and home-cooked meals 99% of the time. Additionally, my child was already getting an hour of exercise three days a week. Despite these efforts, my child's lipid levels remained high, leading to a referral to Primary Children's "Cholesterol Clinic." Before seeing Dr. Ware, we had to see another dietitian, only to receive the exact same recommendations we had already been following. When we finally saw Dr. Ware, we were met with judgment rather than support. My child was fat-shamed, and we were made to feel entirely responsible based solely on physical appearance--despite my detailed explanation of our efforts. Dr. Ware dismissed everything we had done and insisted the only answer was increasing exercise to five days a week. Determined to follow his instructions to the letter, we increased exercise, meticulously documented every meal, and even tracked activity with an Apple Watch. Meanwhile, I began discussing our family history with relatives and discovered a strong genetic component to high cholesterol on both sides of our family. At our next appointment, I had to push for genetic testing, which ultimately ruled out hereditary hyperlipidemia. Eventually, Dr. Ware prescribed cholesterol medication, and at the following visit--despite lipid levels still being high--he decided it was "good enough" and told us to return in a year. Meanwhile, Primary Children's continues calling, saying we need to schedule a follow-up, which seems like standard practice for cardiology patients--except in our case, my child is just "fat," so apparently, that's our problem, and we'll just see him in a year. At this point, I am hoping my child's pediatrician will take over managing their medication so that we never have to go back. Throughout this entire process, Dr. Ware has shown no real compassion or curiosity about alternative causes beyond lifestyle. To him, weight issues are solely a lifestyle problem, and he disregards the possibility that other factors might be at play. It's frustrating that there are no other pediatric specialists in Utah for this condition because Dr. Ware does not provide the level of care and respect that patients deserve. If your child has high cholesterol and needs a doctor who truly listens and cares, I would strongly advise looking elsewhere-- even if it's out of state.

We were so impressed with Dr. Ware and the time he took with us as we met him this week! He was very genuine and engaged if that makes sense. He acted like he had all the time in the world to sit and talk to us. We loved how he thoroughly explained and talked through all aspects of treatments being very technical and detailed while also giving us analogies for us to understand. He was very open to listening to us as well. We felt great about the treatment plan and feels like he cares. Super impressed, highly recommend.

We have had Dr. Ware for over a year now and have loved going to him. We've had over 7 check ups with him and have been very satisfied. He's very nice and easy going, but never in a hurry. He takes time to discuss any concerns.
