Joseph F. Prano, DO

This was our first visit with Dr. Prano after my daughter was diagnosed with heart failure in the hospital. The cardiologist there said that the echo showed one side of her heart didn't relax fully and limited the amount of blood to be pumped out. Dr. Prano was very quiet and disconnected. He didn't explain anything to us, except that he wasn't convinced of her diagnosis. At first we were elated when he said she doesn't have heart failure, but that wore off.. We now feel uneasy and don't really know what if there is anything we should be doing. We will be seeking a second opinion as I feel like our time was wasted and need answers. It is so frustrating that you can see 4 different doctors and get 4 different answers. I feel like each Dr should collaborate and come to a conclusion based on what each thinks. Something needs to change.

Dr. Prano is great...the problem is the Ascension system...it's really bad. So as a patient, you're in a situation where you have a really good doctor (Dr. Prano) practicing in a very VERY BAD system (Ascension). So you need to think about that really hard.

He is the best in my book. Compassionate and a skilled cardiologist. I'm fortunate to have him. We generally like each other as well.

Listened to my concerns, answered questions throughly and completely and ordered a prescription i needed almost immediately.
